So, Channel 6,(ABC) WLNE just dumped the F1 race for Catholic Mass....

No. It was a joke from year's ago when someone ran over debris at Spa and the tire came apart. The commentator says "The tire is delaminating," when it was clearly punctured by debris. He may as well have siad "another Pirelli..." and you know the rest. More good publicity for Pirelli!

I don't get it. Mags stuck the car in a gap that was closing, took out Sergio from behind, and his teammate for good measure. There was enough debris to cause a red, but the stewards don't even want to look at it?

Yes, Mercedes is ESPN’s presenting sponsor for the season now so they can maintain commercial-free coverage each race. Current TV deal is about $80M per year and there aren’t production costs associated with it, and they also show commercials during practice and qualifying.

When ESPN/ABC first got the rights it was around $5M/year and they got Mothers Polish to present commercial-free coverage after the first few races.

They view first-lap incidents very leniently, apparently unless you’re Esteban Ocon. Weird stuff for sure.

Their penalty point system is a joke. They’re scared of their own regulations. Shows you that an elite driver in the series will never be benched for any penalties incurred. They let Gasly off the hooked when he crashed his own teammate last year because he was also one penalty away from missing a race.

This was a shoe in penalty for Magnussen that also should have been a bye week for him. If these lowly guys can’t get a one race ban for actually exhausting the penalty system, no one will.
