The £60m will be handed to the state of Bavaria and Ecclestone’s lawyer Sven Thomas revealed to The Independent that he will ask the court on Tuesday to use the money to build a new Formula One track in the region.

The hell is Germany going to do with another Grade 1 track? So in a few years he can threaten Nurburgring and Hockenheim using this track as leverage until he gets whatever he wants. The guy actually has the gall to use this settlement as another business venture.

Yeah, I was kind of shocked by that. The money should go towards a "don't text while driving" or "always wear your seatbelt" awareness program, if Bernie wants it to be motorsports related. He just wants another publicly funded way to line his own coffers.

I dont like it either, but that seems to be a universal norm or reality. If you have the money you can insulate yourself.

In a judicial sense money equals right, morality or at least a personal exemption, even if wrong it can be had for a price.
