Fans struck by driver after Martinsville race

Thats terrible and just sad. I dont know what to say, hopefully no one was killed or permanently injured.

Its been updated that 22 people were injured.

Road rage.. people like that think everyone should get out of their way. :dual9mm:

History has shown that using "kybu" was a word that was used to really upset Kylie18 and make him resign from the forum.
Miss Kylie 18, so much to talk about now.:(

I've parked in the lots that front that stretch of road several times; my father's artificial hips put him in the handicapped parking. I can't help but wonder if some of the mobility-challenged fans in the area may have had difficulty getting out of harm's way.

That is news to me..... I can't understand why that would upset ANYONE... if someone gets upset over something like that to actually leave the board... they have more serious problems to deal with than getting their panties in a wad over a racing forum board....

I call the little twerp Shrub as I think I remember Kurt referring to him as that before Shrub started his Nascar career. I had already forgot about K18fan as we didn't have much interaction and I don't participate in the cesspool or whatever it is called.

I'm sure there was....... had to be more than that..... I wasn't privy to what went on ...... and really didn't want to be..... was none of my business..... ;)

Ostensibly the whole thing had to do with K18 feeling Shrub was being disrespected because a thread was inadvertently deleted or merged, for a short period, but was restored and all should have been well. He took a teeny little molehill and made a choice to turn it into a mountain and that was that. I know he would be welcomed back at anytime but I think under the circumstances it would be difficult to return.

You are incorrect sir. I've been calling him kybu ever since he's been in Nascar. And kyle18fan was fine with me using that name. We had a few private conversations and respected each other.

Kybu, kubu is a shorthand version of their names that a lot of us use to differentiate between them. If someone takes that as disrespect then so be it.
There was a little more to it than that.
As I'm sure that you know there was a great many things and three or four people that had to do with it. No one thing. Mostly he was just ready to go.

So, apparently this was all occurring behind and to the right of our seating location. Didn't know a thing about it until one of my friends contacted us from back home. This world is full of idiots. :(

Yep, behind and below you, pretty much centered on the tower. As one of the articles noted, the crews use the same road to get between the helipad and infield. It's a popular lane for photos and autograph seekers, esp. at the gate to the pad when teams are arriving. I saw Rick Hendrirck get off his bird and sign autographs for almost 15 minutes one spring. Needless to say, the teams aren't usually as cooperative when they're leaving as when they arrive; understandable. Celebrity spotting is one of the benefits of the M'ville handicapped lot. Unfortunately, in this case it means there were that many more bodies in the area than would have been on the roads on other portions of the track.

I haven't read if this guy was leaving the handicapped lots. They're usually located very close to the track, for obvious reason. Even if it was another lot in that area, as anyone who's parked close to the track can tell you, you're going to compete with more traffic and it's going to take you longer getting out. I wonder if this guy didn't realize that when he pulled in.
