It's that time of year where the fireworks are booming at the World Center of Racing! Last time we were here, it was @DanicaFreak (#7) in victory lane for the Daytona 500.
Daytona is a historic venue and is always unpredictable, and that usually makes for some emotional victories over the years. Tony Stewart arguably had the most emotional victory we'll see all year last week. The question of the week has two parts: 1) what do you want the next emotional victory to be? 2) Will it be here at Daytona?
Millennium (#40), the winner of this year's Coca-Cola 600, is in jeopardy of being declared inactive in both Cup and Xfinity. Dodge (#89) and Hinch5 (#5) are also in jeopardy of being declared inactive for the Xfinity Series.
Jakub Smetana (#42) has been one of the stronger competitors of the year, and he arguably had one of the best chances to win at Sonoma after starting on the Pole and was in the Top-5 for all but one update. Everyone else seemed to move around quite a bit at one time or another. 3 competitors stood out from the rest. Jakub led 2 of the first 3 updates, but then Retro Racer (#49) dominated for four straight updates while Denny Hamlin led, but it was MJM (#84) who took over with Stewart's lead and took it home for his first victory followed closely by Nascarman (#81).
