Fastrak $250,000.00 National Championship Chase begins!!

It all begins this weekend as the Southern and Mid East Regions of the Fastrak Racing Series begin the $250,000.00 National Championship chase for the Dirt Late Model division. As both Regions come together at the West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg GA a big turn out of cars are expected. Drivers from TN,AL,GA,NC,SC,WI and FL will be on hand for the event. In one of the most anticipated races in history this weekend, begins the “richest” ever points chase for “weekly racers” in dirt late model history.

05 Fastrak National Champion (Mid East Region) Shanon Buckingham from Morristown TN is expected as well as Matthew Daniels of Spartanburg SC the Fastrak Series 2005 “Rookie of the Year”. Gary Phillips was nominated as the “Chuck Field Sportsman of the year and will also be on hand for the event. Legendary driver Buck Simmons will be there and plans on running the entire Fastrak Series for the 06 season. Buck is a several time NDRA National title holder and has won over 1000 feature events. 2004 Fastrak Champion Todd Higdon will be there looking to win the 06 Fastrak National Title. AJ “Sideways” Watson has been running at West Georgia the last few weekends picking up some valuable track time along with the Kenny Harris prepared car of the “Bowman Bandit” Randall Jordan. Ronnie Tullis, “Blast from the Past” and many time track champion will be there from Winder Georgia as well as several time East Alabama Motor Speedway champion Dana Eiland. Never forget local Track Champion Glen Allen as he will be defending his title. Look for new comer Brandon Cameron from FL to be a tough contender for the weekend. Never forget the 21 car of Frankie Beard as he always seems to end up at the top of the heap when it’s all said and done. George Reese will be on hand and has been getting in a little extra track time at West Georgia as well.

The event will pay a handsome $2000.00 to win with a very favorable purse paying thickly through the field all the way through 24th position with a $200.00 pay out to start the main event. The feature event will be 50 laps certain to give the fans more than their moneys worth for the two day weekend.

Friday: Gates Open at 12:00. Technical Inspection begins at 3:00 and drivers meeting at 7:00.
Practice to give everyone a fair chance to “shake their car down” while qualifying later Friday evening.

Saturday Night: Gates Open at 3:00. Technical Inspection at 4:00 and drivers meeting at 6:45
Heat races, last chance race and the 50 lap main event.

The Management staff of West Georgia Motor Speedway has made the decision to not raise the price of tickets for the fans for this event. It is only $12.00 each night for the fans keeping pace with the normal ticket price at the facility.
