FDA investigating 5 Hour Energy after 13 reported deaths

Andy, what's your cholesterol? Blood pressure? Do you know? You know for certain all your internal plumbing is in A #1, Tip Top shape? Absolutely positive you don't have a 'weak' spot just begging to burst, a aneurism, or that your heart goes "wonky" under certain conditions, IOW a cardiac arrhythmia.

You're a young guy, why do you need a energy drink? Eat 3 squares and get 8 hours sleep and you don't need a energy drink.

This right here is the key. Do we know if we're healthy enough to drink them or is there something wrong with our system to need them.

The lawsuit says that Monster does nothing to warn you of dangers of over consumption or caffeine. They sure do, pretty sure 14 still qualifies for "CHILDREN"

It also says she, a 14 year old drank a 24oz can in the evening then one the next afternoon. My question is why the hell was your 14 year old daughter up all night? And what did she have between the 2 24oz cans to drink?

I assume that is the 16oz can. So a 3 can a day limit is 48oz. Exactly what the 14 year old consumed. You are right though it does say not for children.

5 Hour Energy is the only one I drink, and only then if I need a little extra oomph for a drive home after a race somewhere far away. (like 3 hours or more). I can't do coffee after noon or so, because it tends to keep me awake when I'm ready to go to bed at night, but the 5 hour stuff works just fine without keeping me awake later. I will say though, it tastes like crap, but at least it's just a small shot. Can't stand any of those bigger drinks, like Monster, or Red Bull or any of those.

10's of millions of bottles of 5 Hour sold and only 13 deaths?
Hardly an epidemic. Hardly worth looking into.
Yearly, more people are killed by hippos.

You got a link?

You asked. :D

Hippos kill 2,900 people annually in Africa

True enough, we all like it our own way. Cold coffee is not for me but I guess I'm used to the coffee that comes from my pot at home. I don't think it's anywhere near the temps that it seems to be when I stop when traveling.

Check this out..... Our local small town store has the 5-Hour energy drink sitting on the shelf as you check out. Right next to it is another small bottle energy drink, I think called 6 Hour Power. The 6-Hour Power is about 50 cents more than the 5-Hour energy drink. Normally the 6-Hour Power drink is almost always sold out. What makes a person decide to spend an extra 50 cents on that additional hour? I'm seriously contemplating creating my own 7-Hour Max Energy Boost, raising the price an additional 50 cents on top of that and sit back and rake in the bucks. Who's with me? :D

Attention DP ..please call me at 1-888-555-1212 ..ASAP ...thanks ..your buddy Robby Gordon..

No one needs them but the marketing machine for Red Bull is one of the best I've ever seen.
Yeah, but they couldn't put together a stock car team for beans :p
It's actually part of my chili recipe. The sweet and the hot compliment each other. It's really good.
A 12 oz. can of beer is good in a pot of chili.

For the record, Diet Pepsi is my preferred source of caffeine.
