Final Four

I would rather see the first chase race be the single race eliminator, and then the finale 4 decide it over the last 3 races.

Short of actually fixing the tires and the cars, this format may be the best we can get. Too many races have been boring points affairs lately.
That would be better than what we got.

I'm not seeing what NASCAR is when they say winning hasn't been emphasized already. The last 9 champions all had 5+ wins, at an average of 6.2 wins. Kurt Busch in the inaugural season with 3 was the only one under 5.

Brian want's playoff excitement. IMO, no playoff system crowns the best team most years. But other leagues have multiple divisions, and that justifies a playoff.

I'm taking a simplified view this year. If we get less points racing, I'm good with it and damn the championship.

I think I need to start taking some public speaking lessons from you :D

For the couple nitwits with the "you should just leave then" crap, lemme think on that for a sec. There's still NASCAR LMSC racing, Whelen modifieds, truck racing, etc. You dipsticks that think I should leave just because I ain't watching Cup races? Ya know there's more to life (and NASCAR) than the Cup series (which is now a joke), right?
This post brings a smile to my face. Anyways, Harvick, Kenseth, Smoke and Gordon.

I'm finding it a bit hard to care who the Final Four are at this point. Maybe when the time comes I'll think differently, but for now I just can't get into this "championship" format.

I agree. I need racing. I am thinking way too much.

You name the terms and I will bet you that Joey doesn't make the final 4.
No. I'm not the one saying I think he will. Call up MRN and make a bet with them. I hope he makes it and the stats say he has a good chance but I don't expect that much out of him right now. I'm hoping for a 3 win season and making the chase. Anything above that is just an added bonus.

Well just saying that you sure do love to boast about those articles...;)

Stats mean nothing, remember?

Watching NASCAR like a religion is gone for most, no doubt.

I concider NASCAR like I do the WWE now.

Cannot be taken seriously. Its like an escape from reality. Pretty sad
The difference being the WWE admits its a bunch a BS.

Why wouldn't I? My driver is FINALLY making some noise... Im finally actually not just talking out my ass.... I would think you guys would be happy about that. ;) But then again Im sure me being right is worse :p

Alright.. 9 to go... 10 winners ... 6 spots up for grabs... the contenders have clearly been sorted out... so who's your favorites to make the final four?

Mine are

1. Gordon
2. Johnson
3. Keselowski
4. Earnhardt

Coincidentally the top 4 in the standings right now. With of course and HM for Joey and Harvick, any of these 6 could be there, and I expect it to be that way... I just think the four I posted seem to have more staying power right now.

I'll even go above and beyond and predict Jeff Gordon as the 2014 champion.

I will wait until after New Hampshire for the complete list. However a couple of locks IMO:

1. Kez
2. Lagono
3. Jimmie
4.

Waiting to see if my JGR turn around is for real for #4.

1. Earnhardt Jr.
2. Keseloski
3.Johnson
4.

Waiting on 4 to see who all makes the cut

I like to think Joey will make it.. but like I said he hasnt shown the staying power... although they may not be necessary when it comes down to it. Just lately he has been finishing single digits one week and double the next consistently for a little while now.. although about 4/5 of the bad finishes are mechanical, it concerns me nonetheless... however, in the first time around at the tracksthat make up the final 3 before Homestead (Martinsville, Texas, Phoenix) Joey gained the most points. In fact he has gained the most at Texas dating back to the first race there last year. It's going to take wins for him to get there. He can do it, but not on consistency, unless they clean things up by then. It's tough to say right now because most teams are testing setups for the chase and working toward that. They may bring it to the next level when the times comes and I think thats the plan... but based on the season to date.. unfortunately I have to count him out right now. Although it's a tough pick between him and Jr.. Hendrick just has it right now... so many if's and's or but's and shoulda coulda woulda's. It's gonna be good I know that much.
