I usually go to both Cup races at Charlotte each year and sit in the General Motors section. I was wondering if there is a cheaper way to buy tickets because of the decline in people attending the races. I always buy tickets before going but wondered if buying them at the track is any cheaper due to the current attendance decline. Does anybody have any experience with this? Thanks

We had free tickets for last nights race at Bristol, but my wife said she overheard a scalper selling tickets for $40 about 2hrs before the race started. I never buy from the box office because stub hub and scalpers are usually cheaper. I got into Martinsville in the spring for 40 and probably could have waited and bought a ticket for $25. I also suggest buying the cheapest ticket because now you can move to a better seat much easier.

Thanks for responding! I usually buy from Stub Hub but have also overheard someone say they got tickets cheaper. I just don't know if I have the patience to wait 2 hours before the race to get tickets. Thanks again!

Another thought about waiting that long is that with attendence down, if you don't find the right deal, you can always buy from the track and sit pretty much where you prefer.

Several times I have had people give me a ticket because they didn't want the hassle of dealing with scalpers. I used to buy from them but have gotten away from that the last few years. I now prefer to buy the cheapest ticket at the track the morning of the race and then just sit in an open area.

I'm going to Chicagoland next month, don't have a ticket yet.
stub hub and other sites have cheapest seat for $40
track has them for $65

Anyone know of cheaper priced tickets, (planning to move to top row once I'm in)

I find it remarkable that a track that only seats 55K that is in a metropolis of 10 million people still has tickets available this late in the game.

The people there have other things to do, like rob stores and shoot each other

Damn that's cheap lol

Cheap tix? How's this...My wife an I were planning on a week-long vacation in the Darlington/Charlotte area, to include the race. Because we live in San Diego, it wasn't going to be cheap. Anyway, with rain in the forecast we are opting to cancel. This leaves us with a couple of tix. I will mail them tonite to the first name/address that appears in response. Tix include shuttle to/from the track.

Lol for free?

Free to the first name/mailing address. If I drop them off at the post office tonite, they should arrive in time.
