Anybody find it weird that 6 of those drivers are from Hendrick? Talk about deep pockets...

When you consider Brad got a big championship check to boost his salary last year, he seems underpaid compared to the others at around 8 mil? I think he needs a new agent if that's all he gets from Miller.

Still just his third year in cup, business will pickup for Lerch.
Brad is a thinker his flashy moments are unspoken behind the wheel and in texting up a hot comment (like NERD). He aint one of the Hendrixes GQ types and in the upper levels the best at the show buisness aspect makes the most money.

The old school in me doesn't like it, but that's life. To make the big money you got to be a brand yourself. Lerch probably stills make enough to show you a good time on the town , and buy you pretty outfits, anyhow.

Lerch? lol

I can't fault Danica for what she earns.
No matter what you think of her driving she is a marketing genius. It probably isnt all gravy either. Famous people have feelings too but the expectations demand them to be cheerful, engaging and accessible.

She probably hears a wide rang of cat calls. Pick up lines, yayhoos give her driving tips, and even annoying fanboys.
When I asked her to sign my privates she declined me cheerfully

I wonder if Kybu's manhood can stand being paid less than a woman? :D

I would have thought that Brad would have at least been in front of Kasey Kahne.

It's mainly a popularity list, and that's OK. On second thought, Brad signed his contract before he had done much on the track. It should payoff when he re-ups. I remember when he was searching for a ride and Gibbs, Roush and SHR had zero interest. Now I doubt he even shops around as long as Penske remains competitive.

I wonder how much Tony makes from Eldora? Not nascar level money of course but I'm sure he makes a little lettuce off it.

I doubt earnings from Eldora and his owners share at SHR is included. If it is, he's WAY underpaid.

I doubt that Tony is making much , if anything from El Dora . The upcoming truck race may prove profitable . But most of these short tracks don't make much .Bobby Hamilton lost his (I think) . Johnny Benson is always struggling .Rockingham is still borderline . I think that it's a labor of love and a chance to give back. No doubt someone will come up with a figure to prove me wrong .;)

Those figures aren't accurate, just another fluff story to fill in all the white on the page. Many on the list have other income from other interests and investments. dealerships, trucking companies, modeling careers, on and on.

When you get to that level, you could actually drive for no pay .It's all about endorsements and personal services contracts. One Nike deal is worth millions.

yep I read Junior makes a ton selling clothing and other racing souvenirs. He just signed a deal with a potato chip company, Jr will sell them some chips. Either way they are all loaded $$$

I would trade places with Front Row Joe. He made 2.5 million last year in cup alone.

Most of that money comes from endorsements endorsements rather than salary. Hendrick is smart enough to hire drivers that attract the best sponsors. He's a good at business.

If I'm not mistaken, most of a drivers salary comes from the sponsor. 5 Hour wanted Bowyer, but RCR's price to put a team behind him was too high. I'm sure Bowyer could have taken a lower salary and made it work, but he took it to MWR and was happy with the numbers.

This isll change
So Joe spent 3 mil to make 2.5 mil plus had money to put into Nationwide? And they say starting and parking doesn't have it's advantages?
I heard he S-Ps because it affords him the chance to drive a NW car full time. That was two years ago though.

They get peices of all of it. But the HMS guys have personal services contracts and sell lots of merch.

But if he's losing money doing the S&P thing how does he have the money for Nationwide?

I guess you were mistaken FB???:D

Looks like you don't even have to be that great of a driver to top that list, eh? ;)

As long as you're popular, I suppose.

No he's not. Driver salaries are sponsor driven. But they make a ton of extra money on their personal endorsement deals.

Kinda funny how so many havent figured that out.

Someone should break this down into pay per NASCAR victory (either SC only or with Nationwide) and see how these drivers deliver on the circuit for their employers/sponsers.

One driver will be anti-math however, everyone knows you can't divide by zero.

When you look at Jr's and Danica's salaries, you realize that the whole thing is a personal endorsement deal.

Why don't you have a look? :D

Obviously there is only one winner every week . While every sponsor would love to be in victory lane ,they do set up their marketing program to take full advantage of their driver both on and off the track . This includes tv time , personal appearances ,tv ads , corporate appearances, etc. , more recognizable drivers command a lot more money than do lesser known up and coming drivers . Anyway , getting your picture taken in victory lane is only one small part of the package.

I would think that is the main reason for somebody to sponsor in NASCAR?That is usually the reason a sponsor leaves is because their guy isn't winning?

Judging by those numbers, there's a bunch of winners every week. ;)
