Forbes ranks Junior, Danica among NASCAR's top-paid

Why don't you have a look? :D

Maybe I will if no one responds but

1) I'm working

2) I'm not as fast at that sort of thing as some of the brainiacs who populate web forums.

But if I was going whole hog I'd invent some kinda index for finish (higher the better) per $ invested.

One thing though, this absolutely is not only about winning but as other have noted popularity and eyes on advertisements. Juan Pablo has done pretty well transitioning from open wheel to stock car and he must look at Danica and shake his head.

I would think that is the main reason for somebody to sponsor in NASCAR?That is usually the reason a sponsor leaves is because their guy isn't winning?
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Lagano didnt meet Home Depots requirements, but Kyle Busch got a lot of exposure for MM's even with the same 2012 sprint cup win count probably due to camara time.. Some image factors in too, Joey still looks like a kid, Matt looks more like the type to actually be doing home improvement work.

A lower tier sponsor might be more satisfied with a mid tier driver even if a better team and driver is willing to wear their colors. The top tier guys probably have very limited time or less personalization to offer , their time is allotted to bigger and better $ sponsors.
While a smaller team has more time to give them the VIP treatment.
Sponsors have different agendas too, winning is huge, but getting the royal VIP treatment for the visiting corporate executives is probably high on the list as well, and it provides opportunity for a less successful team.

How do I know this? well I really dont know, but it sounds good to me a anyhow.

Really , you think Budweiser and Miller hung around year after year for the sole purpose of getting into victory lane once a year? They generated enough advertising from being in Nascar to pay for their sponsorship . Simple as that . Even with Happy Harvick's lack of success they are moving with him to a new team.

that is all part of it I think. My Nationwide investment guy won a trip to Talladega and got to hang out with JR in the Nationwide tent and had a VIP pass. I think part of the sponsor deal is also company driven, for employee perks, and large company tax write offs. so on the one hand they get publicity for their product that generates sales and employee perks, and on the other they get a tax shelter for income.

I think it all works quite well without Junior getting to victory lane . Heck , just leading a lap is a big deal to his fans and sponsors.
