Future of Manufacturer Involvement

Related to this, SHR sure is talking up ford horse power...all the drivers. I wonder if HMS screwed tony over or something. I know, I know...they switched engine makers and they want to throw out some bones, but it seemed...excessive.

....yeah, and I like it. The Ford vibe is good right now. I think the comeback is legit.

Also there is a rumor I heard from a local guy around here in New England who has ties to down south and a few of the big teams ....that Honda is exploring a possible entry into Nascar. Not sure how true this is, but it would make sense seeing how Honda and Toyota are huge competitors in the market.;)

Just can't see a new manufacturer right now. Huge, long term commitment with uncertain momentum in the series.

The series needs a momentum booster, this would give it just that, more interest....Honda has a huge following and would bring a new group of fans.

Dodge seems to be the closest right now, they're the only ones I could realistically see throwing their hat in the ring.

Dodge will be back in 2018 and Edwards will be driving for a Dodge team.
Is their proposed car ready for presentation at the R&D center?

It would have to be there by April 1 ... this year.

I really don't envision either of them happening..... and'' IF '' Fiat decides to try their luck at it. (it won't be 2018... the time frame is not plausible) ...... If they don't show success and substantial marketing gains within the first 3 years..... they will pull out and leave all their teams high and dry..... Fiat has no loyalty to ANYONE!!!! ....... Except themselves..... Mopar is no longer Mopar...... it's Fiat...... they are very savvy in their marketing practices........ they realize it's better to not attach an Italian name to an American car company that has been in existence for a century..... Folks don't take kindly to such things..... We found that out when they bought the Agriculture company of Ford-New Holland.... they at first decided to call it Fiat Geotech....... then..... the marketers decided to quickly to change the name to New Holland..... because it was a name well known and had a great reputation.... Because of that swift change... very few people know the company is owner by Fiat..... I can tell you firsthand..... Fiat is not a company you can trust...........

Yeh I agree, but to continue to grow the "Dodge" nameplate I really think they will be back in Nascar and in 2018, I beleive this is already in the works.

According to what i read about 4 months ago they have a car, whether this is true or not ....anyones guess, but i think there is a lot of truth behind the rumor mill in racing.

They have 4 weeks In the meantime, Marccione has announced his imminent retirement. A successor, who would have to sign off on this, has not been publicly chosen.

Mr. Ed continues to sport Gibbs gear at the track.

Heads roll at Fiat faster than the French Rebellion....... the only way to avoid the guillitine is to make a swift exit.......

Maybe Fiat will jump in but I can't see companies like Nissan, Honda, Hyundai/Kia or VW joining in.
I think out of all those Honda would be the one to come in, Hyundai definetly no, Nissan is involved with other racing and I don't think considers Nascar an option, but Honda has the cash and the ability to make a good run in Nascar.
