NASCAR team to permanently lay off 55 workers as it shuts down. Here’s what we know.

I suspect this is a technicality. Be surprised if most of these guys don't transfer over to Trackhouse. Maybe some fabricators won't but the new car is gonna affect all the teams on that front.

You'd be correct.

"Chip Ganassi Racing has notified the state that it will permanently lay off 55 workers,"

There's a law requiring businesses to notify the state of terminations or layoffs that's greater than a specified number. I think it's 50.

"When asked about absorbing former Ganassi employees into Trackhouse operations, Marks said on the day of the announcement that there are 'really, really talented and passionate people at Chip Ganassi Racing today, and it would be our goal to try to retain as many of those people as possible moving forward.'"
