What's the range of gear ratios Cup cars run during the season? Martinsville and Bristol the same? How about Daytona/Indy/Talladega? All 1.5 mile tracks the same?

Thanks.

As far as I know, it depends on each track rather than which type of track. A lot of factors come into play when mandating gear ratio ranges such as spoiler size/angle, tire compound & pressure ranges, size of restrictor plate, etc.

I thought Nascar has set gear ratio options at most tracks?

A while back I was told Bristol and Martinsville ratios were in the 5s. Pretty steep, if accurate.

I think NASCAR mandates that 4th be 1:1 and specifies a range of final drives for each track. Beyond that I believe teams can choose whatever they want for 1st through 3rd, though that doesn't really matter much. Could be wrong here.
