Just to clarify, I wasn't wishing death on him. I realize now it kind of sounded like that in my post.That mean old bastard will live to be 130.
I also do not have any of his music in my library but I recognize his contributions to the music industry and to the humanitarian causes that he supported.I dont want to be a phony, I wasn't a big fan of the music. I am sure it was great for many, just not my thing.
But the following story deserves the respect imo.

I dont think one has to secretive about their philanthropy, but his desire to do that commands my respect. There is something pure about doing it just because it is right, and avoiding any of the self promotion that could be so easily attached to the deed.
His duet with Elton was one of my favourites
