......looks like I may be living out of my truck for the 3 day weekend this spring.... (hint, hint, hint)
Is that hint, hint, hint directed at me?????

naw looks like i'll be commuting back and forth to UTA and back. The Hint hint hint was directed at that guy that got me the tickets to the hardest place to leave after a race.Is that hint, hint, hint directed at me?????
I can't take blame for that... Cesar gets all the blame there. The Hint hint hint was directed at that guy that got me the tickets to the hardest place to leave after a race.
The tickets usually have the actual starting time printed on the tickets. We went to Atlanta yesterday and they said 2:00 was the start time, even though it was really 2:15. Fox came on the air at 1:30. If weather had been a problem and NASCAR decides to go green at 1:35 and people are still trying to get parked, there will be a lot of ticked off folks. TV selects the start time of the race, then they back up and add their pre-race show from that point. NASCAR will never start the race when the pre-race show is scheduled because that is not the advertised starting time of the race.
I'd say Atlanta will be losing one of its dates if yesterday was any indication.
Now you know that Andy is all knowing/all seeing. After all, he puts ARCA ahead of NASCAR doesn't he?
One thing that was brought to my attention today at work was that it really doesn't matter what the price of a ticket is, it won't change what is going on these days. You can give the tickets away and people will still not be able to attend because of all the other costs...transportation, food, lodging etc.
I disagree.Good point. With gas creeping up towards $2.25/gal here again, people being laid off, and the general poor state of the economy I think even the local racing is going to suffer also.

That's technology for you. Those old days where you would find a driver who had plenty of money and could get the best parts from the local parts store, or knew of a place that he could get some really good racing parts, were fun to see that guy stink up the place. But you knew this guy was the man to either love or hate. Sooner or later, another guy would bust onto the scene with equal equipment and thus a great rivalry started. More and more money started pouring into the sport because that's the only way one could even keep up with the "Jones" and it just grew from there. If you didn't have it, you couldn't even make the race.Sorry, I'm just bitter. The sport I truly loved has sold out, you can't work and make your car better any more, you have to buy it. Butch and I ran a Modified and got 90% of our parts out of his fathers junk yard, we loved a car that came in with Sears or Gabriel Red Rider shocks,, now it's $150 each for Carrera's.
Ah, is that a.m. or p.m.?9:52,,,to early to start drinkin' I guess,,,,,,,,
Someone sane and rational will give up their season tickets to the NFL team or $120 Nickelback concert tickets before they drop the $10 expenses.
The number of sane & rational people seem to be dropping faster than the stock market
This is true... we have these NFL durhards all over the area. Even worse they're Redskins fans which is the 2nd worst thing in football to Philly fans. If the Redskins lose, they'll be out starting fights at bars or shooting people at Fedex Field quicker than the decline of Citigroup's IPO.
I've been to a ton of NASCAR races and have never seen a fight break out. Yeah, they talk trash at KY or a couple durhards throw cans at Gordon. But very rarely do you hear about fans stabbing or shooting other fans. I've been to one Redskins game and the azzhole Redskins fans were getting thrown out left and right throwing beer at other people starting fights. Stands looked more like Fight Club than a sporting event.
I won't ever go to another pro football game. And the fact that people cought up thousands of dollars for season tickets just to turn around and whine about the depression is amazing.
I can't take blame for that... Cesar gets all the blame there.
I'm still shocked SMI allowed that.
Want to complain about leaving a track come to Richmond with me took me 5 hours to get out of the parking lot a couple years ago.
They need to move the May Cup race to late June where IRL is now. The amount of traffic on race day, combined with school being in session, is a pain in the arse for everyone. Eliminating the school day traffic would help things. That's really the only bad thing about Richmond is the traffic. Hell, you go through residential areas to get there.

Everyone up here complains about the traffic at Dover I've always thought Richmond was worse though
Since when is there school on Saturdays?
Also, the reason the IRL traffic is so much smaller is the crowd is smaller.
