Are suites usually counted as seating capacity? There are 198 (race control gets 1 suite, and Eddy has an office in a suite) of those with 200 occupancy each, I believe. 198 * 200 = 39,600
The remaining amount would be those in RV's that bought infield-only passes.

And while the front stretch looked perttty full (nice looking crowd) there were a few large bare spots along the back I noticed.

Exactly. It was a good crowd so why exaggerate?
I do believe the frontstretch capacity is 122,000 alone.
There's only 10 or 15 rows on the backstretch, then it turns into the RV area (each RV gets 10 rows- but if they're under the RV's awning, those seats are empty)
The attendance numbers include front stretch seating, suites, back stretch seating and those in the infield camping. It was a pretty full house. They can get a pretty accurate count as to how many folks are on the front and back stretch (seating, suites, etc.) as each ticket holder's ticket is scanned in and out at the gate.

Permanent seating for Texas listed on Jayski's is 138,122.
again I ask, includng or not including suites. 198 suites @200 each = 177,722 spectators. Plus the infield.

I sure thought the suites held more than that. Coulda swore i saw a sign that said 200 maximum.

Those numbers might be just the seats in the suites.The suites may be able to hold more than the seating capacity.
