He was talking about the roof flaps. Most people watching a race for the first time have no idea what the function of the roof flaps are.
Most first time viewers also don't realize how radio communication is used between the teams, and that they use several different channels.

How ironic. Talladega, which has handed the championship to Jimmie numerous times and was the track that Edwards blew it in 2008, is where Carl Edwards starts to wrap the bow tie. 14 point lead, Edwards doesn't really have to force the issue now. Not to mention Texas, Phoenix and Homestead are good to him. If Carl gets out of Martinsville in one piece and with a 14 point lead or more, he may have it.

I have my Carl Edwards vodoo doll ready and waiting for next weekend. He will finish 37th. And my Matt Kenseth vodoo doll is set for a 35th finish.
I threw away my Busch brothers vodoo dolls since they are not needed any more.

Not really. Jimmie fans knew he could not win forever. Five in a row has never been done so he made some history there. 2012 and 2013 are looking like pretty good seasons for Jimmie to get to 7. We shall see...

Just saw the finish -- for some reason, I've never liked Bowyer. Very anti-climatic much like the entire race.

They sure did. In the spring race the Gordon/Martin combo employed the same 'run in the back' strategy while the Johnson/Earnhardt combo ran up front most of the race. On that day it worked out for both tandems. This time both tandems ran in the back most of the day and it bit both of them in the ass. More often than not they 'run in the back' strategy does not work. It's easy enough to see looking at the loop data from these restrictor plate races. Those that run up front tend to finish up front. Just ask Bowyer and Burton. They are the only two drivers that had an average running position in the top 10 for both of these Talladega races and finished up front in both races. It absolutely sucked as a Jr. fan listening to him trying to get Johnson to move up to the front of the pack only to be continuously shot down by both Chad/Jimmie. Jr. wanted to race, Johnson didn't. They had the cars to do the job, collectively they didn't have the nads to do the job.

I'm hoping that the results from this race and the media/Fan reaction will have an effect on future SuperSpeedway races:
1. Riding in the back isn't the Safest place or most productive place to be.
2. Nobody likes to hear about "Team Orders" it's to close to saying the fix is in.
3. The last few laps are for Winning not making freinds.
4. Apparently 100k isnt enough for these guys to race up front?
5. Gordon still thinks he's a God but has proven to be a whiner.
