Gordon: Relationship with Bowyer still strained

I'm sure Richmond didn't help either, especially since Gordon seem to take it personally.

Hope they put on another show like last time. The crowd loved it

It should remain strained for the rest of their careers.

Clint is a dog. Bowyer is and has been trying to screw Gordon for years.

He's still the one paying the price though even if Gordon is at fault. lol

Clint thought that Richmond thing was a struck of genius. How that work out?

I'm fine with Gordon not making nice with that hack.

Good interview. I dont care who's wrong or right, having different opinions is a good thing anyway, that's what thinking people do.

But the tension between the two is a good thing. No disrespect intended but they have been effectively eliminated from winning the chase.

So bring me on some hate.

No hate, its true. lol

Ok I agree more like tension, but my dream remains, I believe in hate. It is way underrated.

What the (racing) world needs is hate. Pure an unadulterated enough to knock off the starch of everybody being a bunch of sweeties.

:D

Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison also knew how to hate each very well in the late 70s and early 80s.

People really hated DW then, it was great stuff.

Not only that, Bobby passed the DW hate down to Davey. There was no love lost between those two. I remember Davey straight up dumping DW at Bristol one year. There was a red flag in the race a little later and in the interviews with DW and Davey you could see the hatred they had for each other. Then another time DW sent Davey for a very wild ride through the infield at Pocono.

Bobby was saying DW tried to kill his boy. It wasn't pretty. lol

But back on topic... Doesn't surprise me in the least that there is still bad blood between Gordon and Bowyer. I doubt Bowyer will ever forget it.

I remember watching an MRN Wilksboro race at Wilksboro in the late 70s. The time frame had Bobby Allison in Bud Moores car, and DW was in the Digard car.

Bobby knocked DW out, at least that's the way it looked on the radio. DW was in the pits for a long time while they straightened it back out in the garage. He went back out on the track and harassed and interfered with Bobby for the rest of the race. He probably prevented Bobby from getting the win as a payback.

DW was the most hated driver I ever saw. Perhaps not in volume as in number of people, but folks who hated him were pretty serious about hating him.

The boos were not casual.

You'd have to be pretty hated to get Davey on your bad side.

I started watching nascar in the mid 80's and was in fact a DW fan. I think for several years after the Pocono incident with Davey, he would get death threats whenever they went to Talladega. lol

Davey was usually a pretty clean driver, but when it came to DW he was a real a$$hole. I'm sure it had everything to do with the bad blood between DW and his dad.

So in retrospective, Rusty did DW a big favor by dumping him in the All Star race that fateful day. lol

The two do seem to be treating each other with more civility now, but I doubt they will ever be sending each other Christmas cards. I know Gordon felt wronged by Bowyer for the way he raced him a couple times last year, but I still think it's deplorable the way Gordon waited for him at Phoenix and turned him head-first into the wall in front of traffic. No better than what KyBu did to Hornaday a couple years ago, IMO. Both are out of title contention now, just rooting for Bowyer to finish higher than Gordon in points, they're tied going into Phoenix.

Gordon sure has some troubles with more than a few drivers over the years.

I still feel as if Gordon over reacted a bit to it all, mainly cause I feel it was a big chain reaction at Martinsville, and what happened at Phoenix could have been handled a lot better then it was, like ToyYoda said it was no better then what Kyle did to Ron. If you want payback on someone wait til a short track, that's the best way to do it honestly.

Drivers who came into the sport 10 years ago and more recently are the PC drivers. They text each other after an incident instead of picking up their balls & talking face to face. Gordon has already mad several statements saying that if a driver calls or texts him after an incident he won't send a return message, he will see them on the track next Sunday. If you jokingly make fun of each other, like all men do, the PC drivers will cry on twitter. There's no more badassery left in this sport. In every sport it's always been the tradition to rough up the new guys just to toughen them up & welcome them to the big boys. Do that now & you'll be in the NASCAR hauler. Either way the "old school" system still works. Clint was a fool for thinking he could mess around with the driver who was basically Earnhardt's apprentice. He got stung & now he doesn't poke the hornets nest anymore. Actually, Clint should be thankful it wasn't Tony or Kevin. Clint showed his true nature @ Richmond this year and every NASCAR fan should see him as a ****head. In interviews they will say "clint is actually a good guy" but I guarantee you he is a loner out on the track. He won't be missed.

Yeah, Jeff was a real badass when he hid in his hauler after wrecking Bowyer last year :) Gordon may be a lot of things, but a badass isn't one of them.

Hiding? Are you kidding?

Guy was right smack in the middle of it when a douchebag 15 crew came shoving people. Gordon consequently was walked to his hauler by his crew/NASCARs officials and whoever else.

Gordon has gone up against tougher guys than Clint. A fact.

But I agree with one thing, Gordon doesn't try to be a badass nor does he look it but that dont mean he wont stand his ground which he has many a times.

He didn't "hide" in his hauler. After Clint's crew decided to assault Jeff's crew (like a bunch of idiots the crew doesn't drive the car they just work on them) you can see one of Jeff's crewman pull him away & most likely put him in his hauler to guard him from the onslaught. After Clint made an idiotic move to go 3 wide at Martinsville and ruined HMS chance at 200 wins at their most loved track, Johnson's & Gordon's team didn't go attack Clint's. They acted like champions. MW, Clint & his team are nothing but chicken**** losers. I bet Clint wets his pants a little anytime he hears the #24 is around him.

Karma reared her head as Jeff won the next week at Homestead & even made the chase in 2013 and had a fighting chance after Clint Boylover tried to make a mockery of the sport.

Idk if you have kids but if you do & they ask you who is the best to root for are you really gunna tell them "Clint bowyer"? He's one hell of an example to set.

Jeff Gordon is always the victim and has been his entire career. He has no more right to wreck anyone than they have to wreck him. Yet, soon as someone goes near him, they deserved it because they've wronged him at one time or another? I don't think so.

The truth is, Gordon has been a cry baby since the day he stepped into Nascar and there's plenty of video to prove it.

Says the fan of a driver who got pushed around by Jeff at Bristol & Michigan. He races you how you race him. If you give him the bull expect to receive the horns.

Let's not forget this year when 40 something year old Matt cried behind his sunglasses in victory lane.

Maybe, but shifting the focus to others doesn't in any way disprove my posts.

I guess Clint was trembling with fear that Jeff would unleash is 5'7", 150 lbs. of fury on him.

Hey, no need to get nasty with the Duck Dynasty guy's, they'er cool.:)
Since you brought up Duck Dynasty..... The other day while doing some grocery shopping for my parents I came across a Chia Willie display. I didn't take the time to take a picture that day but here's one that I just found. What don't these guys sell?

I didn't think it was real but I googled it and damn it is. They're smart business people especially Willie, gotta make it while your brand is hot, no telling how soon it will start to fade.

I read an interview with him a few weeks ago and that is exaclty what he said. Strike wile the iron is hot. He'll put his name or likeness on anything and everything. While the popularity will not last, the massive piles of money will. Generations of his will be able to live off of that. Who knows, one of those Silver Spooned kids of his may just be a NASCAR driver some day? :D

I bet they are cool but it's another one of TVs ways to label the south as ridiculous & dumb. They've got a great business going but they have the stupidest ideas. If you live in the south you know what I'm talking about.

Ranks right up there with honey boo boo & swamp people.
