Greatest Driver Ever

You mean Christian Fittipaldi?

Fittipaldi just sucked in open wheel racing, and stock car racing. Apparently, the racing gods just didnt give him the talent.

Some guys who transitioned from Open Wheel Racing are doing pretty well, Jason Leffler in Busch Series, Tony Stewart in Nextel Cup, Casey Mears (raced IRNL) in Nextel Cup, well success to a degree. I guess it's the tolerance for the lower speeded stock cars, the faster reaction time, etc. that helps their driving. I dunno.

Hopefully Paul Tracy and Michael Schumacher enter Nextel Cup down the road, the theory must be validated.... or disproved.

1. Rick Mears - Could drive any type of car and win
2. Mario Andretti - Could drive any type of car and win
3. Juan Montoya - Indy/F-1 make them look easy, great car control in rain and cold tires
4. Jeff Gordon - Great car control, level headed, could have won at Indy too.
5. Greg Moore - Taken away from us way too soon...

Robbie is a "racers racer" since he does race many different types of race vehicles.
RGordon does deserve to be ranked with guys like Schrader, Stewart and some others, who race anything any time and this qualifies him as a "racers racer" only.

It is wishful thinking to to even suggest he belongs in the same category as drivers like Mario Andretti, Rick Mears or AJ Foyt.
