Notes:
• Chassis No. JR-011: This is the same car the Grainger Team used at California (18th-place finish), the first Michigan (31st) and the second Dover race (seventh).
• Last Year: Last year Biffle substituted for Jerry Nadeau in the No. 44 Petty Enterprises entry. Biffle ran on the lead lap for the entire race before running out of gas in the closing laps trying to stretch the fuel mileage.
• Biffle at the Track: Biffle has mixed results at the 1.017-mile speedway. He recorded his first career Busch Series pole position at Rockingham and he has two runner-up finishes, three top-five and three top-10 finishes in seven starts in either the Busch Series or Winston Cup Series.
• Points Race: Biffle and the Grainger Team remain 18th in the overall standings and they are 157 points out of 17th heading into Rockingham.
• Rookie Race: Biffle trails leader Jamie McMurray by 33 points in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings with two races left. He is the only rookie in 2003 to win a race, which came at Daytona on July 5.
Biffle's Quotes...
“Rockingham is definitely one of the more challenging racetracks on the circuit. It only takes a few laps to wear out the tires and from then on you’re pretty much sliding around for the rest of the run. It really tests your abilities because the handling changes constantly and it requires you to search around and find something that works. We had a solid performance in our first Winston Cup race there early in the season, and I think we can beat that this weekend.
“ I’m pretty excited about this weekend’s event because I get the chance to participate in my first 76 Pit Crew Challenge. The Grainger Team has been practicing really hard for the competition and I believe we’re going to give them a run for the money.”
