Gunman on Parliment hill

I dont even know what to think in all this... an attack on Canadian soil?! Kinda freaks me out, with all the **** thats been going on.. who knows where these guys will stop. There's no proof yet that ISIS had anything to do with it but I have a feeling.... and now theres a good chance of war... here.

I saw an article last week saying something like "Canadians should not feel safe at home in their beds"

:(

Thats exactly how terrorists want you to think. Dont surrender to those feelings, if you do the terrorists will have won.

easy to say...hard to do. How am I supposed to be my trusting Canadian self in the midst of this crap. Curse you ISIS!

This is what, Canada's first attack in how many years? How do you think America feels? We have pretty much trained ourselves on how to react in these situations & not let terror rule our day to day lives. Our resolve is strong, yours should be too. If not, youve allowed terrorism to win.

you have more experience in these matters. right now I am blinded my tears for the innocence of this great country. When I can see clearly enough the azz kicking commences

Terror won on 9/11.This world has never been the same since.

If freedom has won I would be able to fly without taking my shoes off and be able to bring common hygene products with me.
If you didnt have freedom you wouldnt be able to fly period.

If Taking shoes off & a patdown saves the plane Im on from exploding in the sky, so be it. Jerk me off while youre at it.

If you want to call what you have today freedom, you must consider that your founding fathers were imbeciles.

I recall well walking out on the tarmac to stairs rolled up to the side of the plane, with a cap gun strapped to my hip. Stewardess thought it was cute.

At least the Canadian authorities call it like it is.... a terror attack, not workplace violence like our lame president. This does not surprise me. I feel bad for the Canadian guard killed. It's radical islamists. They are a real threat.

Oh, and this may interest ..

This assclown was about as much Isis as the last one. Wannabees with too much time on their hands. Nothing more. Personally I object to even granting this moron the title Terrorist. He's a low class thug. From his record, I sincerely doubt a real Muslim would even want to be in the same room with him. Even his family wants nothing to do with him.

I'm sorry but its a terror attack done in the name of Islam. The facts are there. This guy was a recent convert to Islam, was getting or just got a passport to Syria. They are terrorists.

Thats the point... we never see this kind of thing happen here... not like Im hiding under my bed but Im more concerned about it then I was 2 days ago. Theres been a lot of **** going on around here, who knows which things are isis related but we have to be somewhat concerned... like 3 shootings on the 401 in the past week.

Then Denis Lortie must have been a terrorist too ... 'cept he wasn't. He was just a wacko. Just like this guy is just a wacko. That he was a recent muslim doesn't make him a terrorist. Working as part of an organization trying to derail a community through fear is a terrorist. This is just some assclown that thought it was a cool thing to do. His record shows that's exactly how he's lived his entire life ... long before he discovered a religion that says behaving that way is OK.

Guys, you know what those people are after...don't give it to them. Go about your lives as you always do and trust in those who protect this country to do their jobs.

Oh I am... but we have to be somewhat weary... I mean.. they came to OUR country and killed one of OUR soldiers! Or at the least sent someone.. or whatever... That means war at the very least. Were already in it and usually this kind of thing happens overseas.. it may... but them bringing it here, where we dont expect it.... sucks :(

Terror doesn't rule our day-to-day lives? How many of our rights have we willingly and voluntarily surrendered to "prevent another 9/11"? This country lives in nonstop fear - whether it's ISIL or Ebola. So, spare me that speech.

YOU may live in fear. We do not. Speak your yourself.

Being vigilant & concerned about issues is not the same as being terrified of them.

Now get off my lawn, the car is rigged to explode

Living on the east coast, I suspect that I don't feel the impact of what has happened as directly as those who live in that region, as I think you do. Try to hang in there.

I don't live in fear. I'm pissed at how many of MY rights have been abridged since September 11th in the name of "security".
LOL and I bet your life hasnt changed one bit due to them has it? Tell me a story of how the govt has come to your house & taken you away from your property. The govt doesnt give 2 ****ts about what YOU do. They care about why some suspicious guy named Achhhhmed Mucchamed is making several calls back & forth to Iraq while having a search history on how to make bombs from fertilizer. But stay paranoid.

Im actually not too close to there... Im in Niagara ...but its still pretty close as far as the size of the country.. I just cant believe all this. Not a good day for Canadians from any coast.

Agreed SB. it still sucks but it is what is. I found myself looking at people wondering if they are a terrorist

You guys like to talk about "slippery slopes" every time someone mentions anything about your ******* guns, apply the same logic and figure it out.

All you talked about with the hobby lobby case was a slippery slope. Nothing yet. Nothing ever. Use that logic.

Thats what sucks!

I'm not big on politics, don't watch the news often and don't really read the paper but a friend of mine does and is all paranoid about all this isis stuff and I had to listen to her go on and on yesterday about how they have people planted in a bunch of different countries waiting for the go ahead to start taking people out... and I dont even know how true or false that might be but I admit it has me a little freaked out.

Then I decided to go look at a timeline of what isis has done lately and obviously didn't like what I read. If they've been around for so long and they have things planned etc... Of course that's unsettling... the way to get to this part of the world is not to bring an army and just attack... too much land, too many ppl, too many guns. This kind of **** is the way to do it. They're basically punching their ticket to having their country obliterated when they do it but they just dont give a ****.

In the meantime I'm wondering whether or not theirs a possibility that the guy who runs the gas station at the corner is one of their sleepers.

Lol. Stay naive.

The View co-host Rosie O'Donnell is drawing criticism online for remarks about Wednesday's deadly shooting in Ottawa.

Thursday's episode of the chat show kicked off with the panellists discussing the attack on Parliament Hill and the killing of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo of Hamilton as he stood guard at the National War Memorial.

The Ottawa shootings came just two days after two Canadian soldiers were run over — one of them fatally — in Quebec by a man with jihadist sympathies.

As The View panellists discussed whether Wednesday's shootings were an act of terrorism, O'Donnell said "most of these shooters have severe mental illness" and then expressed support for a controversial tweet about the shooting from model Chrissy Teigen, who used the tragedy in Ottawa to make a point about U.S. gun control.

'Brilliant and on point'
active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in america, wednesday

No matter if it's Ecole Polytechnique, Dawson College or what took place in Moncton last August, we should try to not allow fear and paranoia to control our lives or turn us on our fellow countrymen.
