Funny. I thought Matt beat 'em all...
Oh I forgot, everybody is a fan of Kenseth.

Now.

It doesn't matter what he does, people will still pick apart everything he does.  If he didn't touch another car, said everything PC, people would still find stuff.

The only reason I think people have to make fun of him is because...hmm...he beat your driver.
I can't stand the guy & he didn't beat my driver! :p

I would have totally agreed with Kat's comments, until Richmond. The old statement "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it" always comes to mind when I think of Richmond. As soon as Rudd got into him...I had that feeling it was coming.

Then at Charlotte, Matt was complaining about him. Kevin said something about wanting to rattle Matt while they were racing together. Yeah, it worked, but Matt finished 8th & Kevin was 10th. Everybody said, "well, that's racing" that is what's supposed to happen. True, but Matt's complaint was that he wanted Kevin to work with him instead of trying to race him hard. Both cars were about equal (Kevin couldn't get around Matt) and Matt said that they both could have gotten to the front instead of settling for 8th & 10th place.

Atlanta was another one to remember. After the race, Kevin declined an interview stating that the championship battle was over. I guess Kev's not a Yoggi Berra fan because "it ain't over till it's over".

& we're still about a zillion short of catching Jr.

Interesting idea...Kenseth doesn't "pop of at the mouth", is pretty PC, and a solid racer...and everyone DOES like him. I look at it this way, now that NASCAR has a lot of history, you go into it thinking, Do I want to be #3 or #43? You pick your path and drive down it. If we want to talk about drivers who have done some crappy things and felt no remorse, let's look at what Hamiton did to Gaughan after the race was over (can't remember which track).

Harvick is a good racecar driver. Better than most. He is gonna be driving the car for a few years yet. Alot of people don't like Harvick, J. Gordon, Newman, Busch and some don't like St. Kenseth. But unless your name is Richard Childress then it don't mean crap if you like Harvick or not. So go on and bash away. The more you bash the stronger & more popular he gets.

One thing I can say for Harvick is that he is extremely loyal to his fans.

I put this together last off-season. I'll be doing it again this off-season, but haven't finished it up yet. Just realize that this stuff is from December 2002 - January 2003.

Lots of good points folks. I don't like Harvick but I didn't mean for this to turn into a full blown bash Harvick thread.

I thought the earlier post that said that different people like different personalities and the drivers tend to go one way or the other makes alot of sense. I tend to like the drivers who keep there mouth shut and race clean. There are lots of drivers who started off rubbing people the wrong way and eventually turned out ok. There are several guys I didn't like early in their careers that I think are pretty cool now. Jeff and Robby Gordon and Rusty Wallace are the ones that come to mind with me. The whiny butts probably irritate me the most.

If all the drivers and fans thought alike it would be pretty boring. Overall I do like most all of the drivers and whatever their attitude they are still the best ambassadors and more fan friendly than all the other sports.

I will end with this; you Harvick guys will go to the wall for your driver, can't fault that, you guys are very loyal

I still don't like him :)

Everything is cool. You have your right to dislike Harvick for what ever reason.Your right we will defend our driver. Just like any other fan will defend theirs. If we all started to bash or stomp drivers in the ground we dont like the board would be in a melt down in a short time.

But, does he need a restrictor plate to perform the miracle?

And that probably qualifies it as a miracle!

Shame on me! :dual9mm:

Junior has won 9 career Cup races:

4 - Talladega
1 - Daytona
1 - Texas
1 - Richmond
1 - Dover
1 - Phoneix

So 5 plate wins and 4 wins at non-plate tracks.
He doesn't need a plate to win... that's Mikey. :p
