I don't know which hauler or why it was on this part of the track, but one of the NASCAR haulers wiped out the flagman's stand at Pocono today.

Out of pure desperation, the Home Depot Hauler tried to wreck the Lowes hauler and things got out of hand.

I gotta be honest..... That thing looks like it could have used an upgrade anyhow! I'm kinda surprised it doesn't still have Winston Cup painted on there somewhere.

Someone got tired of waiting for a tornado to come through. :D

That thing looks like it was built from little more than 2x4's and some left over sheet metal from one of Junior Johnson's old rides. Slap a little Bondo on it and it'll be as good as new.

What a letdown, I thought there was more to those things than that. A lumber run, some new paint, case of beer I could have it knocked out in a couple of hours.

Like someone already said, they needed a new one anyways. Those guys need to upgrade this track, had they done it years ago the IndyCar guys would've never left after the 89 500. This place is a perfect layout for IndyCars...

That #66 seems to be cursed this year.

The driver of the big rig is obviously the frontrunner for Bonehead @ Pocono.

The track chose to make it fun and hold a contest, see it and more images at the Pocono Raceway facebook page.(8-4-2011)

When all the facts come out, I think you will see that it wasn't the drivers fault.

That's funny, FB! :D

I'll bet that the hauler driver said...

D'OH!!

I was trying to give the driver the benefit of the doubt until more facts came out. But now that some of the facts are out it looks like it might have been the drivers fault.

you'd know. I figured the guy probably hit it and didn't even know, considering how shotty the construction seems to be. I've seen pictures from Chumpcar and Lemon races that were built better than that POS.

The word I got was that he was following some other haulers and he didn't see the flag stand and hooked it. Hopefully not to many people seen it because that would be one of the most embarrassing things that could happen to a driver. He probably will not get promoted to a sprint cup hauler. But he might get demoted to an arca hauler. When we arrive at the dragstrips that are next to a nascar track we usually pull in side of the nascar track to dump our septic tanks and fill up our water tanks. And I can tell you that there is not much clearance going through the tunnels leading to the inside of the tracks. It wouldn't be a good time for your air bag valve to malfunction.:)

I've watched the hauler parade at TMS from the infield, and I know what you mean!

Robb Mariani the host of American Trucker did an episode where he rode with Chris Miko the driver of the hauler that hauls Carl Edwards cars. It shows a good shot of them going through the tunnel at the Las Vegas track. It shows just how close it is in there. I always stop and idle through that one.:)

It's amazing how little room there actually is.
