Hauler wipes out flagman's stand at Pocono

It's amazing how little room there actually is.
It looks smaller then it is because it is a round tunnel. But if you are at a legal hight you will not be able to hit the top of the trailer because your tires will hit curbs and not let you over far enough to hit the top of the trailer. It can be a little intimidating the first time you go through it though. But what is worse then that is if you have to go to down town New York City. Now that sucks. :)

I thought 53' trailers are illegial in NY state? special permit for the big haulers?

Texas's tunnels are rectangular. I felt tight just driving throug in my dakota. I reckon there's no more than a foot on eaither side of the trailer.

You may take a 53' trailer in to New York. You can find the length laws from the department of transportation for each state. I think it is 43" from the kingpin to the center of the trailer axle for New York City. But I havn't looked it up in a while. I go to Buffalo a lot because that is where our crew chiefs shop is at and that is where we build our chassis. Also I work out of that shop if we have work to do on the car between east coast races.:)
