Heads up - NASCAR Fan Council

I just opened this to ask if nascar had run the changes by the council first, even though I had a feeling I already knew the answer. thanks for confirming that.
While they don't ask ahead of time there is a place that members can leave comments/suggestions at any time. I use it a couple times a week. They obviously aren't listening to me as you're still posting here. :p Seriously though..... Who knows what comments people put in there. Maybe there are fans out there that have been asking for this sort of thing?

For what it's worth, Gluck did some polls on the format. Vote to get the totals.

I have to say that while I do like taking part in their fan council most everything is reactive rather than proactive with their surveys. I hear Brian France say that these changes are in reaction to the fans interests yet they never asked me in advance if I thought this most recent change was a good idea. I only ever get asked about something that they've already done. Who is Brian listening to? I never saw an outcry for this change on Twitter. They weren't calling for it on NASCAR Radio. I don't remember being asked anything about it by anybody at any of the races that I attended last year. Honestly, I don't think I ever met the fan that he's been talking to.
Yep.

My opinions were with the 36% for the first 2 questions and with the 75% on the third.

Surveys are usually designed to favor some kind of outcome. When I answer surveys I usually don't find the question I want to answer. I often quit a survey without finishing it when I detect a motive. Also, the most effective surveys have 11 or fewer questions (took a class once).

Why would any survey not have a motive? Jw..

We Fan Council members can submit opinions and ideas at any time. Why wait for a survey? I send them carefully crafted short essays from time to time. Maybe they read them, maybe they don't. Either way it's better than just whining on a fan forum.

Except that it isn't gauging the fan reaction to something they are planning. They announce the change and only then do they ask for a reaction. That was my point with the post. Why isn't it used to gauge reaction to a proposed change rather than an implemented change? I think that they've got a great tool available. They just don't know how to use it.
They did a survey last year on how qualifying could be changed, but I'm not sure why this Chase change wasn't brought up in any surveys. It seems like they actually put the format together very hastily.

I'm pretty sure they spread them out. I know I've read about some on here that I haven't gotten.
I answer every survey that they send my way. It may very well be that they send out different surveys to different council members though. I may not always get the same one that you do.

Sometimes surveys are designed to promote a point of view. For example, suppose a Jimmy Johnson fan club had a survey about the greatest drivers and not include Dale Earnhardt.

I have been a member since it began. The weekly surveys are repetitive and don't offer much.
But there is always space to comment, so I continue.
They say that the responses go directly to NASCAR, which I highly doubt.
Still, I will dutifully complete every survey they send me - and I always have something to add in the "Is there anything else" section...

The anything else section is there waiting for you 24/7. You can log in there any time you want and leave a comment. You don't have to wait for a survey.

It has taken since the start of this thread for me so, not too long.
Not long at all. Keep in mind that you can go to that site any time you want and voice your opinion. You don't have to wait for the surveys. Make sure that you do take part in all surveys or they could drop you from the list.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to participate. I think I'll head to the site in a few minutes to write something.

Great news! After reading this thread, I decided to check if they've invited me yet. They did! Sent me an email last Wednesday!

BAD NEWS: the invite expired on Sunday FML
