hello everyone, i been reading this great forum for over a year now, and talking or replying to my monitor, but decided today to join. there seems to be a lot of smart people and all in all, i understand and respect the views of most post i've read here. i am no way an expert, just a long time fan with my take on racing. i had season tickets for bristol, charlotte, and darlington since the late 70's up until my health prevented me from attending any longer in 2002. also went to others, daytona 500, atlanta, rockingham, n. wilkesboro, martinsville, dega. first job i had in my life was building the condo's on top of charlotte speedway. (drywall hanger). last job i worked was joe gibbs racing shop (drop ceiling). i pull for the penske cars, have since the days of rusty, so glad to see mr. penske get a championship. hate, i know hate is a strong word but hate all things hendricks, although i down deep, way down deep think the 48 team from top to bottom is the best i've ever seen in nascar, i just threw-up in my mouth. anyway here's to hoping racing-forums accept me, and maybe i can bring something to the forum.

Glad to see you decided to be a part of the discussions.

I'm a Gordon fan but I'm fine with your stance on HMS. Part of the fun of nascar is pulling against the teams you don't like, so flame away.

Welcome.

Welcome Pudge, sounds like you've been following Nascar about as long as I have. You weren't by any chance a Pearson fan were you?

thanks all for the welcome, and yes dirtguru, i did pull for pearson.

hello wingnutcnc, and thanks

I really think this is the best racing site going. TRL manages the race threads well. I've tried some of the bigger sites (like espn or yahoo) but as a rule the racing threads break down into arguments and name calling and political cr_p in no time.

i agree, not sure why i waited so long to join, i think maybe because from reading here, i don't know as much as i thought i did, but regardless, i love to talk nascar, and i need to stay away from all danica threads.

Welcome Pudge , great racing back ground . I'll bet you have a lot of memories . Hope you will share a few , when you have the time .

i've seen some great things for sure, a couple of crashes that were hard to believe the driver survived, micheal watrip & years later mike harmon, both at bristol, were the worse wrecks i seen live. but the year johnboy & billy (local radio host from charlotte) ran that giant shopping buggy around bristol...wow...how that banking didn't take them out. you could see billy was scared bad, still shakin when it was over...my fondest was at charlotte, guest in the pits with jimmy means and the front tire changers daughter had a broke arm and wanted to get dale earnhardt to sign her cast, but her dad was busy and her mom wasn't up for it so i said i would walk with her and try. well off we went, and found dale, and she went straight up asked him to sign her cast, well he said no, boy was i mad, ready to cuss the man, but all of a sudden he said the cast will get cut off, let me sign your white t-shirt, and you can keep it 4ever. after signing he said to keep walking and get every driver to sign it also. well every driver did except one, he said no because it had dale earnhardt name already on it, she said she didn't really care if he sign it or not that dale was the best. so as we headed back to means' pitbox, dale actually chased us down and asked how did it go, she told him all but one signed it. he said show me who and when she took him to that driver and pointed him, next words were...waltrip (darrell) you're gonna sign this and you need to quit acting like a little baby...never was an earnhardt fan but i did have respect for him after that.

Awesome. Welcome to the forums. Already with some great posts.

I bet Earnhardt knew what a-hole refused to sign it before she even said his name.

inb4 #17D500winner blames all Gordon fans for fighting on this thread.
Gordon fans.. the only ones who can argue amongst themselves regarding his finish.

"It's his crew chiefs fault!"

"No! He needs a long run to the end!"

"If he would have been on the inside for that restart though"

"DAMN YOU LOGANOOOOO!!!!" :D

Maybe one day there will be another Logano fan here that you can fight with. Why don't you troll for some new forum members at your weekly 'Logano is Great' meeting?
