Here is the solution.

1. The photographor got what he was looking for. As raise out of Tony and more than likely a chunk of change from Joe Gibbs.

2. Everybody and anybody who follows Nascar knows Tony has a bad temper. So gee he's human doesn't make him a bad guy just one to leave alone after a bad day. Not everybody is built like Jeff Gordon who seems to handle the press just fine. People should stop calling for him to act like Jeff, it's not going to happen.

3. Tony should know no matter what you can't go around hitting reporters cause it only comes back to huante him.

Okay both are at fault. One cancels out the other.

Solution, Media should only be allowed to bother the top 5 drivers for each race unless the driver wants to talks. See Kurt Busch, Leave the drivers alone after a LONG HOT RACE. Come they are humans as well and even though they choose their career as a professional they didn't give up their rights. A person has the right to refuse to be interview if they so choose. Tony was jogging away from the guy and the guy just kept coming. If I am not wrong every driver has a spokes person,.

For the record I won't defend Tony for his other weekend problems just the brick yard problem. My wife is the Stewart fan in this household not me.

With all due respect Reckless,There life is one many drivers would love to live,I say adjust,or get out of the limelight.Tony is a target for the cameras thats were he worked to be is Famous,Fame just had more cards than the Glory card,Tony needs to learn how to play them all.

One of my heros, Paul Stanley, said it best. "We are what we are because of our fans. If you don't like wearing a tie, don't run for President."

Once I heard that gibbs had talked to the photographer and all was ok, I just had to think your check is in the mail.;)

On the one hand there are many movie stars who love the limelight, others who shun it.

Tony loves the limelight when he wins, gets the pole, etc. Hates it when he has had an "off" day.

Respect the wishes of the party you want to interview, all members of the press, like you have with Jeff.

I wonder, if any other driver had done this besides Tony, would there still be all the hoopla about it, or is it just because of Tony's track record in the past with the media ?

i don't think this would have been a big deal back in the 70's when the drivers would fight it out in the infield! Cale fought just about everyone, shoot I think he fought every Allison at one time or another :)

I think it does have something to do with Tony's past. Plus I think he's gotten a raw deal every since joining from the IRL. IMO he's been targeted from day one.

My reason for "wondering aloud" about whether this would be a big deal if it were anyone else is because of the following......

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning what Tony did, he's an adult and he's responsible for his own actions. However, these two things are known facts in the situation... a) Tony told him no, not right now, however it was worded, the guy knew that he wasn't welcome at that particular moment in time....B) Tony was jogging to get away from the guy. If Tony had just turned around and hit the guy without telling him no or without trying to walk away from him, then I would be the first in line to say that what he did was TOTALLY wrong. While what he did wasn't totally right, the fact of the matter is.....Tony TRIED to walk away from the situation. I personally have struck one person in my adult life for basically the same situation. The particular person was literally in my face and I repeatedly asked them to get out of my face. When they refused, I turned around to walk away and they ran right around and got in front of me. Again, I asked this person to get out of my face yet another 3 or 4 times. We as humans have our breaking points. I had reached mine and I finally hit the person just to get them out of my face. Some people would've swung sooner and some would've never swung at all. We're all different and we all have our breaking points. Is it not possible that this guy pushed Tony to his breaking point ???

The solution is that Tony needs to control his temper.

what's that drug............PROZAC, i think it is.............lifetime prescription for ole tony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
