History Channel to air Madhouse Modifieds

I couldnt figure out why they were having such a problem with that software. I have the same exact program and its pretty cut and dry on how it wants the information entered. The only thing is it wants dimensions so it can build a 3d model to show you. Its actually a very cool program and has helped me understand my car a ton. The measurements are just time consuming but its not hard to figure out how they want you to take those dimensions.

Program we had didn't have 3d modeling but it was a program from 1996. One other thing essential is having a set of scales that are accurate! We still have a set of digital Longacre Pro scales. The combo of the computer program and scales is like having Ray Everham, Knaus, Smokey Yunick, Red Farmer & Suitcase Jake etc in your pit.:beerbang:

I thought it was cool that millers crew was still using the old grain scales. And actually those are more accurate than the computer scales. I read an old article by scott bloomquist and he said something about the computer scales that really made sense to me. Those scales are only guaranteed to like + or - 2% of the actual weight of your car. And 2% of a 2200 pound car is alot to be missing. I can see why alot of guys still use them

When Junior Miller was winning the majority of his wins, he was driving for a very good team that had great money and more over, learned crew. What he has today are good old boys that have been doing things the old way since whenever. Though Junior is driving for Melvin "Puddin" Swisher, he is using his own car which is an older one, and pretty much pays for everything himself. Junior just doesn't have that good of a car these days and it shows during qualifying. For the longest time, Junior had the track record at BGS, but since he lost his ride, he hasn't done much. BTW, he lost his ride because he was tearing up more equipment than money earned.

SST, learned a little more about the cost and purse. The winning payout for a twin race is $750 and for a single race, double that for $1,500. Each Saturday night, teams must purchase one set of tires at $600. And there is a $20 cost per crew member to enter the pits. But you can see at a minimum, it cost $620 per race night. If you don't win, you are losing money big time. The big time sponsors give out at most, the cost of the tires and maybe crew passes, but most of the teams don't have that good of a sponsor. One other thing, Chris Flemming is not as poor as it would appear in the series. He is however, not a show stopper. As Burt said, to be a show stopper, you must be in the show.

I just read where this show has been moved back to 11:00 ET so if you don't see it in what has been it's usual time of 10:00 ET, you'll know that it's moved. Oh, and I've got some juicy news about one of the players but can't disclose it right now. I've promised to keep my lips sealed...at least for the time being.

Stay tuned.

that sucks i wonder why they moved it back like that. hope that doesnt mean that its hurting for viewers.

Lack of brain power.

From what they have showed on tv that Tim Brown is a real jerk to the people that help him.

No kidding. I'm surprised they even put up with that. I'd tell him to fix the damn thing himself after taking a dump in the seat.

Guess I've been away too long but $1,000 for a rear panel and quarter???

He needs to find another fab shop IMHO

I'm glad Jason Myers spun Junior out. Now maybe Junior will stop acting like an ass, wrecking and spinning everyone.

Junior got his reputation doing this and it's a part of him. The show makes it look like the Myers are his only enemies, but they are the ones that tangle with him more than the others. Brown simply won't race him and will just let him pass.

This week's show was more of the same, putting the emphasis on the Myers/Miller fued. Honestly, if Miller would race everyone without intentionally spinning them, there wouldn't be as much animosity at the track. And the show again only shows what they want. In this week's show, you saw the #53 wrecking hard. That was the team car for Junior, and the car that he was hired to drive in the previous year. A young up and comer by the name of Jonathan Brown, no relation to Tim, is driving that car and could dethrone Brown and Myers from the top this year. If they continue the show this year, I believe that he will be a part of the show.

As for Chris Fleming, you are getting a good idea of how he fares. His brother Frank, though a good driver, never has been on top of the standings, but almost did one year. That was the first year Tim Brown won, and it was Junior Miller who was responsible for that. Going into the last race, Frank was leading the points. Junior was second and Tim was a fair distant third. Frank and Junior fought hard, but Junior finally spun Frank out. Frank, like so many others, took exception to that and waited for Junior. Then he took out Miller and the two of them were out of the race and finished behind Brown in the standings.

It's no secret that the biggest fued is between the Myers and Miller and the crowd is divided pretty equally when one of them spins. So if you are a fan of one, the other is a big enemy. As for Brown, he has made his enemies with his mouth at the winner's circle. It really is a love or hate type of fandome with those three.

I think every local track has it's rivals and the show is doing it's best to play off them.
At Seekonk if your last name ends in a vowel and your father/grandfather raced here every decision will go in your favor, every time.
That's just the way it is, accept it or race elsewhere.

There are those that will swear that the Stadium will favor the Myers, but in fact, until Tim Brown overtook Junior Miller, Junior had more wins than any single Myers, and Burt and Jason's father never won a title there. A lot of ii is in the eyes of the beholder. If anything, the Stadium gives a break to Brown, Miller and Myers because of their fanbase. I've seen all of them get by with something other drivers wouldn't.

You know alot of people's biggest complaint is that they dont show enough racing in this series. But I am enjoying seeing inside the guys shops and what they are doing and operating. Every week there is something going on that I can identify with in my own racing, and crewing on cars.

I am tired of Junior Miller acting like his **** dont stink, but ive ran into a few old drivers like that at the track before.

He has to have every new panel custom painted. Most pre fab asphalt bodies come in either black or white and you gotta paint it to what you want. Thats why if you look at Burt Myers car his body pannels are black along with the hood and roof and then he has orange aluminum for the sails and roof caps. He does have some vinyl detailing on the hood it looked like.

It looks like Junior just does his own body out of a sheet of aluminum which is what we do on our dirt cars. Easier when you got flat sides.

Alot of asphalt guys i know all run black or white because thats the color they can get the nose and tail pieces in. They dont want to pay to have new panels painted everytime they destroy one.

Brown does put more money into his car's looks than probably all of the others, but for the most part, the mods always look much better than 99% of the other cars. I can tell you that Burt's cars, as well as Jason's, are painted and then repainted. If you can believe it, Burt's car used to be yellow when his father drove that car and Burt drove the #4 car. Burt has had several colors on his #1 car, including a mostly white color with some pink, and other colors as well. He/they finally decided on the current look a couple of years ago. Last year Jason decided to copy the design and did much better. As for Junior, orange has always been his color scheme, though when he was driving for Riggs, it was two toned. But being sponsored by Advance Auto gave them more money for paint. :)

With the beating those cars take, why even bother with the color? I'd be putting that money towards better parts or backup parts and spray paint the thing or go with no paint at all, slap a big number on there and go.

I just don't know why Junior has to spin someone out EVERY race. Is he not a good enough driver to just pass them?

Teaching them what? How to get by another car without having talent? I'm curious, what percentage of races has he been up front without spinning someone out? I get the feeling he doesn't know how to pass another car.

And please stop interviewing his meth head crew chief. That guy is a retard.

Did say it was a good lesson lol. Just looks like its how his brain works lol

Guys, first off, Eric the dip is not really Junior's CC. For reasons unknown, the real CC, who is the bald guy, did not want to be portrayed as the CC.

Junior Miller didn't get all of his wins just by spinning other drivers out of the way. I would compare him with Dale Earnhardt Sr. in that he got a reputation for being a bit too aggressive. In the modified division at the Stadium, there are two drivers that have the guts and know-how to pass on the outside. Junior Mill and Burt Myers. Both of those guys are out there to win each and every race they enter. The show really goes out of it's way to show the feud between the Millers and the Myers. And I do believe that Junior goes out of his way trying to act as though he is a scrappy old man who's mission in life these days is to ruin any race that a Myers is in. For the past two years, Miller has been in equipment that he hasn't been used to...top notch. I understand that he will be driving newer, better equipment this year and won't be with the same team. This time he will be driving for himself and I look for him to challenge Tim and Burt for the pole each Saturday.

Junior is one of those drivers that has about as many anti-fans as he has fans. Burt and Tim are both the same way and those three have dominated the races for the last 15 years or so and for good reason. They are the best at the track.

So who is that moron? Crew member, friend, actor???
The moron is just a member of the crew. For more years than he would like to remember, he was a good friend of the Myers and worked with them. There is a whole lot that isn't being shown on the show and some of that is about who Junior is driving for during the last two years. Puddin Swisher is legendary in southern modified racing and is loved by just about everyone, that is until he hired Junior to drive for him. You could assume that Eric came to work for Puddin rather than for Junior. I'm not quite sure that Eric will be with Junior this year because of the changes that have been made. If I had to guess, Eric will stay with Puddin and work with Puddin's other car. And the car that Junior has been driving just might have a driver or two now and then from up north. All I'm going to say is TC.

I'll have to tell y'all about Puddin one of these days. He'd still be driving today but for a bad crash a few years ago at Caraway Speedway. Nearly killed the old goat, but you can't kill a man like him. I hope that you get to meet him in some up coning episodes. He's quite a guy.

The only actor on the show is Bad Brad the radio host. I wish they had a show like that but I'm not too sure how long it would last. Talking to one of co-workers today and he thinks that about 80% of the fans in the seats there at the stadium come from counties around Winston Salem and I'm not sure this figures are right, but the fans do come from as far away as Mt. Airy (Mayberry), or Pilot Mountain (Mt. Pilot) or other parts of the statel Mt. Airy has a huge fan base that come down each week. Then we have those who come up from the lower lakes area. But regardless of where they come from, they are avid race fans...except for the children of course who roam around the stadium acting as though they are 20 years older, at the very least, of age to smoke cigs.

Now that I know Bad Brad is fake, he's even more annoying.
I just found out today that Bad Brad is actually Brad Smith who is/has been a modified driver at the stadium. Since I don't remember his name, but I do remember the car he drove, you can see why he is acting in the radio booth instead of on the track. He is annoying, but I think he does add something to the show. I just wish they had such a program on the real radio.

As much as some of the people on the show bug me (I can't stand rednecks or stupidity and the show is filled with both) I am absolutely addicted to the show. I can't wait for Brown to get railed into the wall for some reason. Plus, that track looks like it would be a blast to drive.

Just looked and there is no Madhouse on tonight  damn i hate the superbowl

History Channel runs it at weird times, middle of the night. Set your DVR and I'll bet it'll show up.

I've been watching Madhouse Mods on History channel (previously shown episodes)since 8 am. Looks like it might be one of their marathon days.
As I said, if you miss a show set your DVR and sooner or later they'll show it again.:)

One of my co-workers keeps tabs on this series, like I don't, but he seems to think that the audience has been down since the first two episodes and is worried they might cancel the series. The wife was watching this marathon and we discussed it a bit. She thinks that since they moved it to 11:00 pm that it is hurting viewer-ship. I said that while it will for those of us on the east coast, it gives those on the west coast a chance to see it. But we agreed that probably few on the west coast would even take a look-see. She said we love it because it not only is about those that we watch, but it is our house.

The series is about five drivers and their emotions, but it seems to be more about the feud of the Myers and Miller. The BS they have been showing doesn't happen every week, though when Miller gets behind a Myers, it does heighten the excitement ten fold. On average, there are 10 to 15 other drivers out there each and every week and with the bumping and grinding that is a part of the stadium, and with four different series, the excitement is high almost all the time.

Really Flemings, you're going to quit over a parking space?

Talk about picking your battles...

Fleming is an idiot and he'll be back.

Are you beginning to see why so many people detest Miller? Miller has been DQ'd many times for illegal equipment and has left the stadium in a huff so many times it's funny. Him saying that he never cheats is laughable. When he runs on the tour, NASCAR really checks him out from top to bottom and last year he just stopped running because he would fail inspection so often.

One of my fondest memories of the stadium happened about ten or so years ago. Junior wrecked Chris a couple of times and the second time he wrecked him, they red flagged the race. Miller was in first place on the back stretch and Chris ran over and jumped on his hood and try to pull the air cleaner off. It was really funny.

I'm surprise Junior Miller hasn't been banned from Bowman's Gray or even from the series. I mean you'd think for someone who cheats this often NASCAR and Bowman's would just ban him.

Are you kidding? He is a big draw. Remember, there are plenty of his fans that delight in seeing him take people out, especially a Myers. However, he has been put on probation more than once.

BTW, just so you know, Miller finishes the season behind Fleming in points. The Show Stopper outdoes the King.

Ok, learned a bit. In last nights show Jr says he loaned a motor to the Myers daddy, it came back late and in 3 boxes, done blowed up. Got the impression there wasn't even a apology and no attempt to pay for it. That right there is reason enough for a lot more than a feud.

I have seen fights break out in the pits over where a car was parked. Just because your daddy raced here and parked his car in that spot doesn't make it yours.

I doubt seriously there's a race car anywhere that is 100% legal and within the spirit of the rule book everytime it hits the track.

Yea, Jr. is a big draw, even if he isn't driving as well as he used to be. However, I'd like to think that NASCAR would also try to keep the integrity of the sport intact.
