Well, Newman will win the Cup championship this year at Homestead, he will just slam any of the other three chase drivers into the nearest wall when he gets the chance and finish with the season the 2014 Cup Champion, like the great driver he is. It seems that is all good with a lot of folks and the way it should be.

can't believe that were going into the last race of the season...remember watching the sprint unlimited like it was yesterday.....times flies...oh and go harvick!

It is amazing that after 38 weeks.... we still want more.

At Homestead, a gator will run through garage instead of a skunk. Ambrose's final act in #NASCAR? Wrasslin' it until it cries "Uncle."

I'm looking forward to Homestead. I attended the very first race at that track --- the racing did get better when it was reconfigured. It was so boring
at first, my friend and I almost fell asleep in the stands. The most exciting part of the whole first race was watching Big E play bumper tag
with the pace car on the pace laps.

Here's hoping we have a good race.

They usually don't have as many cautions at Homestead, I hope that is the case this week.

Lots of green flag racing with few lucky dogs and wave arounds.

Might be a pain trying to grab lodging this weekend. FSU @ Miami is on Saturday night.

ESPN reporters will be embedded with the championship contenders early this week, withSportsCenter airing multiple live reports from the four contending race shops between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET each day on Monday and Tuesday. The 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. editions ofSportsCenter will air larger all-access features from each team, summarizing what the teams did on those days to prepare for the championship race.

The Wednesday night editions of SportsCenter will air interviews and reports from that evening’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship contender’s press conference in Miami, including the four drivers and their team owners, while Thursday’s SportsCenter reports will follow work back at the race shops and what the drivers are doing in South Florida before on-track action begins Friday.

Dave Burns will follow Logano from the Team Penske headquarters, while Ryan McGee will report on Hamlin from Joe Gibbs Racing. Mike Massaro will report on Newman from Richard Childress Racing and Marty Smith will be with Harvick and Stewart-Haas Racing.

ESPN NASCAR analyst Ricky Craven will appear on SportsCenter frequently throughout race weekend, including during extended post-race coverage Sunday that will feature an interview with the new NASCAR Sprint Cup champion.

Sunday’s 400-mile race airs live on ESPN. A special two-hour edition of NASCAR Countdownat 1 p.m. will lead up to the 3:16 p.m. green flag. All four championship contenders will appear live on Countdown from the ESPN Pit Studio, and the program also will include extended “the week that was” features on all four.

The champion will visit ESPN on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and appear on a variety of ESPN programs and platforms.

Just looked this up...

If Denny Hamlin wins the championship on Sunday, he'd be the first driver since Richard Petty in 1971 to win the championship without starting all of the races (Denny missed the Fontana race).

Remember how dominant Hamlin was at Homestead last year? Remember Kenseth and Earnhardt driving the living **** out their cars in a futile attempt to catch him?

Well, I know of 4 Nascar drivers who for sure remember ;)

from jayski.....

NASCAR Numbers:
2,083: Laps led by Kevin Harvick through the first 35 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races this year, far and away a career best. Harvick added 264 laps to his total on Sunday in winning the Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, his fourth victory of the season.
41: The number of laps led this season by Ryan Newman, who dive-bombed his way into NASCAR's Championship Round with a dramatic pass of Kyle Larson on the final lap at Phoenix. If Newman can lead the final lap at Homestead-Miami Speedway, however, he'll be the new series champion.
1: In championship points, the margin by which Jeff Gordon, Sunday's race runner-up, missed qualifying for the season finale at Homestead. Gordon was eliminated by Newman's desperation pass, but the real damage occurred a week earlier, when Brad Keselowski's late-race contact with Gordon's car at Texas cut Gordon's tire and dropped him to 29th at the finish.
13: The position in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings of six-time champion Jimmie Johnson, who suffered his fourth DNF of the season on Sunday at Phoenix. In his 12 previous full-time seasons, Johnson has never finished lower than sixth in the final standings.
11: The number of races this season that Kevin Harvick finished higher than Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman - the highest of the Championship 4. Comparatively, Logano was the highest finisher of the four in 10 races; Hamlin in eight and Newman in six
