As hot as it was this weekend, I took on 2 nights of racing this weekend in Virginia.

Friday night, in Winchester, Virginia - A threat of rain, and hot, humid conditions did not dampen the action at Winchester Speedway. Round 9 of the Three State Flyers Super Late Model series visited the race track and brought along 24 of the regions best late model drivers. In addition to the super late models, the track hosted it's weekly divisions of limited late models, 4 cylinders, u-cars and enduros.

Then on Saturday night, in Jamaica, VA - One of the hottest days of the year, both on the track and off. But the heat wave was the perfect setting for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series, and their first trip to Virginia Motor Speedway. The touring series brought some of the best southern late model drivers to the half mile track, and attracted some of the best Mid-Atlantic regional drivers for a chance at the $10,000 prize being offered up in the "Summer Heat 50." Along with the super late models, the track ran their weekly divisions of Victory Lap Late Models, Truckin' Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds and Collision One Limited Stocks.
