How Brian Scott got pawned.

Cheater Brad K up to his old tricks. It's no wonder the other drivers hold him in such low regard. If Kyle or Jimmie pulled that stunt you Brad K nut jugglers would be throwing a hissy fit.

The guys that are good on restarts will gain a huge advantage over people. Dale jr, for instance is horrible at restarts. it also takes a gusty driver who is willing to take chances. you have to be able to get more out of the car than the other guy and that means taking chances and putting yourself and other cars at risk of crashing. its all about which driving style favors a particular driver, kyle busch, brad k, and some others benefit greatly because they are aggressive and take chances. guys like mark martin, dale jr, kenseth, whos style is to slowly build up to getting the most out of their car tend to not do well on restarts. the increased HP of the cup cars makes restarts alot more dicey than nationwide cars. if in doubt I personally would bring the field to the line as fast as I could, that way there is less speed that needs to be picked up to get out of the point where I would have trouble controlling tire spin. if I am the guy in second, I am also going to try and pinch the leader down to the inside, this interferes with their angle into the corner, takes air off the side of their car, AND takes up room they need to arc off the corner. but this has a risk of the guy crashing into your car. This sort of thing is all part of racing.

nascar will be watching brad now, if I was him I wouldn't be going early for a long time, in the cup or NW series.

Great points. I do believe Brad would do much the same in the same situation, but perhaps a little earlier and slower. It would be interesting to know if nascar would have penalized Scott for jumping the restart if he had gotten to the box that far ahead of the leader.

Wrong. I haven't conquered the Nile yet, but I'm working on it. :D

What really suks in all this is a NW regular finally had the dominant car and he blew it....twice!

I have to say Scott was very classy about the whole thing and even went to the winners circle to congratulate Brad. I don't think I could have done that so soon after the race.
 
nice photo explanation Fender. games are played during restarts everywhere races are held. brad played it perfectly.

on another note, i'm afraid to compare individual poster's comments and the interpretations of brad and chase's most recent wins. some of your interpretations of what's fair and what isn't seems to be based entirely on the drivers involved.

Excellent point, but everyone can't be as impartial and pragmatic as I am. :)
 
Hopefully he took Nascar to school for the last time and they will nail his ass every time he tries that.

I looked at the restarts and IMO, Brian Scott lost the lead by spinning his own tires the first time -- the second, what Kez did was acceptable -- he just got a good restart.

Big bummer Scott didnt win but its no one's fault.
