That ain't nothing until he gets his mower out and mows grass out about 100 yeads from the slip. A couple of years ago, that is exactly what happen on one of our nearby lakes.

Just get ready! Most Tarrant County cities will be entering into stage 1 drought water restrictions most likely on Sept. 1st or shortly thereafter. Mike, I'm not sure if you live in the Tarrant County portion of your city, but I'm pretty sure that your whole city will follow suit. Dallas County won't be affected as of yet as when it was raining in June out to the northeast, all of their water sources were getting the rain and NONE of Tarrant County's were. This will basically mean outdoor watering will be limited to twice weekly according to your address. It's gonna be a real big mess!!!

question- what is holding those boats in the air? Dry docking just fills pontoons..useless when there's no water...

Are those boats literally being held up by a rope at each corner?!

Most boat houses like that one have 2 straps that go under the boat, the 2 straps go to a hoist in the top of the boat house, those are what's holding the boat up.

You are exactly correct, blue! If they didn't have that then the boat would be sitting on the bottom of the dry lakebed.

Unless you are IN the water, you can't stand to be at the lake fishing!

Me: "So when are we going to your dad's for the pool?"
GF: "I was planning to go Sunday."
Me: "You ask him what the temperature is?"
GF: "No, but 20 bucks says the bathtub will be cooler"

Watched some of the reports on the news today, insane how hot it is, hope you guys get rain and cooler weather soon!

LUBBOCK, Texas - Some park workers in West Texas have taken advantage of the drought by mowing dry lakebeds.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reported Friday that the drought had expanded the duties of park workers to include getting rid of unwanted vegetation.

Operation manager Stewart Gerhart says crews have been mowing down giant, flammable cattails.

Gerhart says workers have been trying to clean out what they can "while the getting's good."

Crews have also spent some hot afternoons picking up dead fish lining the city's playa lakes. Experts say high temperatures have sapped the lake levels and limited oxygen for the catfish, stocked bluegills and sunfish.

We haven't had much rain here in NC either....HOWEVER, it will come down in buckets for about five minutes, just enough to cancel races at BGS. Right as the start of a race too. Cars piled up in the first turn (Legend cars). What a mess and then the rain stops completely. Takes a couple of hours to dry the track on a normal day but high humidity takes three hours and that would put the program way past the 11:00 am curfew. We did get to see five races though, two bandalero and two legand races as well as on 50 featured modified race. Another 50 lapper and a Flat Head Ford series race were lost.
