How long will the Danica gimmick last?

"Danica impresses more and more each week" Not my words ;)

I am going on record and say I dont understand why the expectations of Danica Patrick are so high. She has never shown anything in any racing series she has competed in that points to her possibly being successful in NASCAR. If other drivers had had her performance, if you want to call it that, last year in the Nationwide series...with among the best equipment in the series and a beneficial system that excludes drivers from the higher tier...they would have gotten fired, not promoted. I have never seen a driver thats shown so little throughout their careers have people expecting so much.

Would have been fired for finishing 10th in the standings????

Would have been fired for finishing 10th in the stamndings????

There was only about dozen drivers that competed in all of the events. Her performance was among the lowest 25 % of the group. This year her poor performance will be more apparent and outside 25th in points

It's a gimmick... a pretty girl pretending to be a racecar driver. By the time 2007-2008 rolled around, IndyCar's audience fell back to pre-Danica levels.

I would venture to say hell, I'll even say it, I bet she's a far better race car driver than you Andy. Your like those idiots that say crap about baseball players having never playing baseball themselves.

IndyCar loosing audience had nothing to do with Danica. IndyCar sucks because of bad management and boring racing.

Wow, here comes the "you've never (insert whatever here) so you're not allowed to have an opinion" crap. It's a default these days.

Guess we should shut the whole damn website down because none of us have raced in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series therefore aren't allowed to have an opinion. :sarcasm:

That's exactly what I said. She didn't "save" IndyCar. After a few years, when the novelty wore off, IndyCar's ratings were back in the tank.

Damn, I sure know how to stir the sheot. :)

I guess that's always been the job of the press . To stir up the readers by spouting hatred and lies and then take the moral high ground away by saying they were just stirring the pot. That's pretty much what the supermarket tabloids do too. Good job Andy.

Not that's what I call to the point.

And I guess 2012s Sprint Cup winner isn't a winner either cause he won how many races last year on gas milage?

You couldn't make much worse of a comparison. He has wheeled his way to many wins in races in the Nationwide and the Cup series. In the last 2 seasons he has a total of 8 wins in Cup and 8 wins in Nationwide. That's not a fluke.
