How many race's have you been to?

V8's on Texas will be awesome if you guys will love it, I've been to heaps of v8 supercar races. If you want links on how to keep more up to date pm me dont want to lead this off topic.

I would suggest that you start a V8 thread in this forum. I am sure that lots of guys and gals who love racing would appreciate hearing what goes on in that series from an insider (or two)!

V8 Supercar racing is great as well and I am sure that you guys will love it.

For anyone that wants to experience it I would recommend the Bathurst 1000 race, its our Daytona 500. The track is an experience and the racing is great. Actually there is a link (I cant link yet... not enough posts) to another topic on this forum (check out 'other racing topic - Check out this old race in Australia) for an incar three lap 'journey' with our historic series. This will be a small taste on what the track is all about.

I have been to many V8 supercar races over the years, we get the Gold Coast street circuit here soon and the sound between all these buildings is just awesome... its a awesome weekend.

Cheers.

No doubt that those V8 cars would kick the ever-lovin' crap out of CUP cars on a road course. How do you think they would stack up on a track like Charlotte or Vegas?

I have been to both NZ and AU once (my buddy lives in Cammeray) but I haven't seen any racing there. Next time I go back, I will make a point of scheduling my trip around the race schedule!

I am guessing 50 to 70 cup races.

-I saw Petty run the solid blue "by Petty" Plymouths.
-Bobby Isaac in the Hyde prepared K&K cars.
-Bobby Allison in the Coko-Cola Machine (in the original Greek "Kokohler").
-Tiny Lund
-Butch Lindley
-Harry Gant in the "Kenny Childers" car before the Skoal cars.
Jack Ingram....
Darrell Waltrip, back in the 70's he was a badass.

If you read my writing you will see I am sometimes more opinion than substance. In like manner I hated David Pearson as a boy, because I was loyal to the Petty blue.

But after going to a 600, I couldn't hate him anymore. They way he wheeled that big old Woods brother Mercury through the dog leg was too graceful and sweet to ever hate.

He won my respect, they were all heroes, bigger than life to me.

With the driver on the right side/outside they would probably have to change shorts every pit stop!

Yeah..... I would agree with that.

In Australia many years ago they were trying to get a Auscar series going, right hand drive and driving around the other way on a track.

It just didnt take off, and that I think that therer was only one track that they were racing at.

I have done the Richard Petty driving experience at Vegas..... was awesome.... I still think that cup cars would have it.

I record the races, too.

oh, not too many, just 5 races. But i discovered this hobby few months ago and since then joining any event related to racing...

Welcome myroona..I live in Canada so I don't get to a lot of races , but there are folks on the forum from as far away as Austrailia , they are real die hard fans(and they don't get anywhere near the tv coverage that we get). What drivers do you root for?

I've been a fan all my life because my father always watched racing, I'm in my mid 20s now. In 2009 I did a lot of traveling over the summer and hit up as many tracks as I could but Dover has become a tradition for my father and I to go to because it's the closest track for us that's any good. I'm in New York City, Pocono is a little bit closer but its not a great place to see a race.

Dover - May 09 - Jimmie Johnson
Pocono - June 09 - Tony Stewart

Trucks
Dover - May 09 - Brian Scott
Michigan - June 09 - Colin Braun
Milwaukee - June 09 - Ron Hornaday Jr.
Chicago - August 09 - Kyle Busch

Indycars
Indy 500 - May 09 - Helio Castroneves - My first and last time at this track, just an awful, awful place to watch a race

Rolex Sports Cars
New Jersey - July 10

NHRA
Reading - Oct 10

I've also been to countless different racing events at Englishtown, Raceway Park and Flemington Speedway when I was growing up and been to a bunch of Monster Jams.

I'll also be going to the Formula One race next year in New Jersey since it's only a 20 minute drive for me. Can't wait.

And you can add me to the list of people who record the races they go to as well.

I have absolutely no idea how many races I have attended. I started going to ASCOT Raceway in Gardena (RIP) with my Dad when I was a wee tyke.

I have seen NHRA, Fi, IROC, Can-Am, Trans-Am, IRL, CART, CUP, N'wide, Trucks, Street Stocks, Jalopies, Sprint Cars, Outlaws, Midgets, Legends, K&N Stocks, Off-Road Bikes, Road Bikes, Drag Boats, the small boats that run on ovals (I forget what they are called right now, K-Series maybe? - but they are awesome) Hydroplane races, air races, Soap Box Derby Races, Monster Truck, Destruction Derby, Figure 8, School Bus, Tandem Chain Racing, and probably more.

It would have to be thousands...
