According to some he can do ANYTHING because he is the "new Junior"! lol
I was simply responding to what someone else had said about Gordon "can't" make the chase in some defense of Junior. As far as the "bad luck blues" getting set aside, there is usually reasons why drivers who usually perform well are not. Gordon not performing well is just as shocking as Junior actually performing...I guess they have switched roles....
^ good points.
For what it is worth I do think Gordon is the better of the two, as would the majority of folks who follow racing.
The thing that confuses me about Gordon is that his decline started at a younger age than I expected. I haven't compared stats, but I do believe that drivers are still in their prime at 40.
I realize that isn't absolute Junior had a decline and even looked like he lost his confidence. Harvicks did something similar his first few seasons were strong, then he had some crappie years before turning it back around in 2009 or 10.
Sorry for rambling, back to Junior I don't think he will win the chase. The stats sez he should, but I think you have to have a power or some domination to win it. The ability to rattle off 3 or 4 chase wins, lead lots of laps and that will mess with everybody else's plans. The only players I see are Johnson, Stewart, and Brad K, with Hamlin and Kahne having an outside shot. The rest are just fillers this year imo.
