Fernando Alonso wins his first race and by doing so is now the youngest F1 driver in history to win an F1 race. Kimi Raikonnen and Juan round out the top three. Rubens Barrichello suffered a very hard crash after a drive shaft failed at top speed braking for turn 1, causing the right rear wheel to come completly detached sending him skiding into the tyre wall. Rubens was uninjured in the accident. Another story was the Ford Cosworth engines. After todays GP, there had been 9 Ford engines that let go during the course of the weekend. Both Jordan cars, Fishichella, and Zsolt lost engines in the race, as well as the Jag of Wilson. Webber was the only Ford left at the end of the day with a respectable 6th place and ties Jag for 5th in the constructors championship with BAR, and Toyota one point behind the two. Jag recruited Wilson to score points and surpass BAR for 5th, looks like they dont need him either. Webber is by far doing all the work. Below are the provisional race results.

That is great for Alonso, his first win. His win made the 8th diffrent winner this season in F1! Thats pretty good compared to last year when BMW and Ferrari took allmost all the wins.

First win for Renault in 20 years

THis was one of the best races in Hungary ever. Did anyone else watch it? Good for Alonso!! I think it is great for F1 for them to have good up and coming drivers.

I watched the last lap in a half. I forgot it was on bc I normaly amd not up that early to watch the races!

I watched a good bit, and Gongrats to Alonso! JPM still continues to impress.

I am not entirely sure that Micheal was just a lousy driver today. He almost always works through the field weather his car is with him or not. I think he had problems. Great result for Alonso, I knew he would win this year. Renualt have very intelligently retained both Trulli and Alonso for next year as well. It was a great race, and its good to see a couple more F1 fans in the forum.
