Hurricane Isaac Approaching

I feel sorry for those folks. It's a category one that will probably lose strength but it's the flooding that's going to be bad.
 
If you look at the map closely, the very tip of LA sticks out and down. It's possible to touch land, then go offshore and touch land again.

Seems a little weird that they would say it has made landfall after barely scraping that small strip of land that sticks out. But I guess they can.
 
Reminds me of TS Allison. It just sat over Houston and rained. I lived on the East side and got hit with about 25" of rain. Started at 5PM on Friday afternoon and didn't let up until 3AM Saturday morning.
