Kinda lost on this number of cars thing. Don't understand the question.

But as a historical note:

The most cars ever to start a WC (Grand National) event was 82. In Darlington in 1951.

The least to start was 12. At Hickory Speedway in 1953.

Another aside, the record number of cautions was 20 at Bristol in 1989.

There have been several caution free races, including one at Darlington believe it or not. The most recent were in 1984, 1997 and 2001. The 2001 race was a restrictor plate race.
