I DISAGREE, we need whos there now...when everything is all over, then bring them back.
 
We have enough over there now. got the job done and bring then home. They are getting killed something like one a day. :angry:

I sure hope it doesnt turn into something like Somalia (Blackhawk Down) however, I think these are Hit-and-run style tactics used by the Iraqis that are being used by Hamas, so its a bit more relieving to be facing just a disorganized terrorist group than an organized army. I also hear that we might send troops to Liberia, so let's gear up for another war. :huh:

Tell that to the billon or so that have died. All wars are either political or religious in nature and most are useless.
 
High irony that an 'intellectual' study of warfare is mentioned.

As long as history is written by the victor,which it is without fail,the insanity of war will be 'studied' by some.Almost glamorized,in fact.Like there is no better way to resolve problems than to shoot at each other!Let all the studies of war and the 'defending of a nation' control and influence our culture then.Let human history reflect a bloody slash thru-out all time.....STILL in no way does that reflection show anymore than just barbaric insanity carried on by a bunch of semi-hairless monkeys that put down their spears and started flinging multi-megaton 'smart bombs' at each other.

And please dont misunderstand me:I was one of those hairless monkeys once.Shot at folks of two different ethnic backgrounds and one very different religious background.I thought then,and still feel now that defending one's nation is vastly important.

But if their is no better way to do that than start shooting at strangers we are destined for chaos.Anyone that argues that needs to study more than just 'warfare'.

Anyway,thats my opinion on it.

Would you have expected 3000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines to negotiate with Japanese planes before they were horribly massacred ?
 
No happy....I would have expected the barbaric insanity that made that particular incident possible to have been resolved before it ever occured.REGARDLESS of who was involved.

And you did know that the Japanese of that era considered themselves quite justified and knowledgable on the study of warfare didn't you?They even considered it an intellectual pursuit you might say.

What about the Arabs striking the WTC and Pentagon. You never mentioned surprise attacks in your response, tell me, would Bush have wanted to negotiate and make peace with a guy Bin Laden whos clearly done terror attacks before ?
 
The Arabs.I have terrible issues with Muslims as Paul could verify were he still around.

Which has nothing to do with your arguement of course.Mainly because war is so morally wrong their can be know argueing in favor of it.Never.Not for any reason.

My point of view is this,keeping my dis-like for the folks out of it:The Arabs didn't just wake up one morning and decide 'hey,let's bomb something in that old satan ,the usa'!The entire Arab-Muslim world has been ripe for this type of tension for centuries.All based on what?Silly notions of warfare and false premises of religious enlightment.Led by WAR-mongering fanatics.Things could have been done,steps taken,to prevent this type of thing from EVER occuring and we both know that.After the end of world war II and the sectioning that took place in that area of the world anyone with foresight could have seen this eventuality 50 years ago.Thus making what happened on 9-11 less likely to have ever occured.

And to answer more directly:the sept.11 attacks were not acts of nations but of individuals.Those persons responsible should be held accountable.A very similar thing to Panama when we went after Noriega....RATHER than the Panamanian Nation.

I don't think the Kennedys are no more curse that any other LARGE family. If you take in 1st, 2nd cousins,brothers , sisters, uncles,aunts, nephews, neices,brothers and sisters. you have a large family. And in any large family people die, get killed, get in trouble, and go to jail. :D
 
No curse ?

Having a family member survive a patrol boat incident, be elected president and die isnt a curse ? Having a family member die when his B-24 explodes in mid air isnt a curse ? Having a family member get shot and die by some radical isnt a curse ? Having a family member die when he slams into a tree during a skiing match isnt a curse ? Having a few family members die when their plane crashes isnt a curse? And having a fat man as the last important one alive, isnt a curse ? In that case, Gollum, you need to look over your definition of curse.
