Yup, a dyed in the wool dave marcis fan. Pa met him in a dinner house out in Riverside, Cal way back in the day. The dude was a fairly decent roadcouser way back when. Even a contender for the title at times which ain't no easy task.
Nowadays I pretty much just hang around the local Bullring here in Vegas, and use the drone of racing engines on televison to help induce my afternoon naps. Have never been a fan of the imitation speedways like what we got here, nor am I impressed with nascar's direction as to turning stock car racing in to a gentleman's sport or a show instead of a race. Figure if folks want a show they might try Broadway.
Most all of racing's santioning bodies have imo over-regulated auto racing and really do miss the wide open style of run what ya brung believing it to be good for the sport and that it creates a higher level of compitition. Safety regulations are one thing, stifling creativity is another. In other wirds, as far as I'm concerned parity is joke. I can watch spec car racing almost anywhere.
Anyways, am checking this place out and may or may not hang around. Noticed my Found Ya thread was closed and am not real happy about it as there was no explantion offered. Have been on lots of boards where threads are closed and/or messages edited without explantion and it just doesn't sit right with me. I believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely. My fave communities on the net are those that are democratic in nature rather than those that are run by benevolent dictatorships.
Oh well, must be time to put the ol Rambler back in the garage. Live easy and let em spin
