That is the sort of thing every fan wants for their racing collection. Short of an actual car, a race used helmet or firesuit of a favorite driver is the ultimate item. Too pricey for me though.

Mr. Excitement, Dale and Harry liked the open face helmets and the days when drivers could wear them represent some of the happiest times I had following the series. The safety Nuns have taken over now and even saying you like the days of open face helmets will cause a few of them to have a seizure lol.

I wonder if the helmet was for the former driver and Jimmy's CC Cecil Gordon. Guess it is.

Yeah ... lol. Earnhardt refused to even discuss use of the HANS device with its inventor, Jim Downing, six months prior to his death.

The safety nuns have made some inroads since then. Thank goodness for that.
