have d.w. and jeff gordon feud wwe style (no violence though) i think it'd garner attention

during a race jeff could say something and d.w. could make a comment like "listen here kid just because you have 1 more title and 2 more wins than me doesnt mean your better than me! in my prime i could have taken you down!"

jeff could say "hey darrell, i have alot of respect for you. im sorry if you took my observation the wrong way"

then d.w. could say" they use to call me jaws, you were wonder boy. you think the drivers respected you boy? they didnt"

mike joy could say" ok we gotta go back to commercial" (which they were planning on anyway)

they come back and they said d.w. left the booth in anger

he ends up coming back saying "mike im gonna have you stand between meand jeff because i cant take that agony of standing next to the shrimp"

jeff says " well this shrimp has 4 titles"

d.w. makes a move and theres commotion so security comes up to watch

this continues all year until homestead when d.w. says "jeff i was hard on you but i respect you. you deserve my spot and im retiring"

Not me. The race itself should always overshadow all else. Give me the understated Barney Hall types in the booth any day of the week. Announcers that loose themselves covering the race and ones that truly want to respect the drivers, verses the self loving admiration is the good stuff.

As someone else one said " when the green flag drops the bullsheet stops" at least thats the way it should be.

Aside from having smoking hawt, I mean hawt, hawt, grid girls or monster energy girls in the booth calling the race, the announcers dont need to draw attention to themselves.

I do get what the OP was trying to go for but DW and Jeff had already disagreed and I thought every time Jeff would say something DW would be like I dont think that's it and then moments later Gordon would be proven right.

It made for some funny awkward moments.
 
Sure, it's a great idea. But make one change: Leave the violence intact. Right up there with steel chairs and everything. Bring in a masked commentator now and then, and maybe even a midget! :owquitit:
