No point's will go back to Martin , but Ol Boner is a class - act!

He's made it every interesting this year.

To the people that voted yes, do you also think that Earnhardt doesn't desrve his 7 championships?

That's a question I wanted to ask...........but glad you did!:D

And, at this point it looks like the point is moot anyway!:)

I saw this poll elsewhere and thought it was silly. Like it or not, who ever is crowned champion today is the OFFICIAL CHAMPION.

It's been a long year and many things have happened. NASCAR made a decision that I agree with in regard to Mark Martins spring and that's that.

Should Mark lose the championship because of this, it's unfortunate but that's the way it is.

Time to move on and applaud this years winner and team.

Yep, Martin would have lost even if he did get those points back.

I voted yes. In my eyes, Dale has 6 1/2 championships.

The differences in the two seasons (1990 and 2002) are this. A: Mark lost by more than the penalty this time. B: In 1990, NASCAR arbitrarilly penalized him 46 points, saying that IN THEIR OPINION he would have finished 9th that day. This year, it was a set penalty that was at least consistent with other rulings. The whole "would have finished 9th" thing is what chapped me so bad then, as it still does.

I remember a race where Dale was leading, I want to say that it was in '95...anyway, NASCAR said that the front tire changer didn't put all the lug nuts on during a pit stop. Finally, Dale had to come and NASCAR was wrong. I forgot what place he wound up, but he didn't win the race.

I don't remember the exact year but it maybe 95. it was the fall race at rockingham and when they had all their lug nuts painted orange but replaced one with an unpainted one the official thought one was missing, after they called him in and realized the mistake they called a competitors caution and put him back on the lead lap. the day was known as the great lug nut caper. Ward Burton won his first WC race that day.
