Haven't seen a thread for this yet and I am a couple of days late to post it, but I guess better late than never. Oval motorsports over here in California has control of three dirt tracks(Antioch Speedway, Merced Speedway an Chowchilla Speedway). They have put together the IMCA West Coast Nationals. January 1st-4th. Nights 1 and 2 were at Antioch Speedway. Tonight is at Merced Speedway and tomorrow is at Chowchilla Speedway.

And I believe Antioch ran on the 1st. In the limited late models, 84 year old Larry Damitz won yet another race.

Yes he did. I was there and the old man was as smooth as silk. He mentioned the car was awful during the heats and somehow they got it right for the main. He is entering his 62nd season racing and was the track champion last year. It was my first trip out to Antioch. I must say that the tight quarters make for some awesome racing.

Yeah, when I was a kid I watched him race hardtops and stock cars at Vallejo and Petaluma speedway, and he was already a multiple time track champ back then.
