Live Friday practice ongoing now:

Where is @FLRacingFan anyway? Hope he's ok.

I will be there on Saturday and Sunday. Can hear them practicing now from where I work, 5 minutes from the track. Very excited, and the fan support here in Portland for the return of this event has been great.
Have a great time ! Nothing better than a home race .

yeah it isn't like him to disappear

Will Power takes the pole for tomorrow, Rossi qualifies third, Dixon 11th (!). Setting up some championship drama, which I would love to see. Something tells me Dixon will recover well though. Should be interesting.

Watching that quali session you would think Dixon just lost the championship. Diffey is usually a very good commentator but that was pretty bad. Along with Paul and the other guy.

They are team Rossi for sure.

I think they are team wants championship drama.

One thing lacking at PIR is sufficient parking for an event of this scale. They are parking people at other venues in the area and shuttling the to the track. The light rail train that stops right at the front gates is a good option, but looks like it is overwhelmed by fans too.

Anyway, this looks to be a very well attended race for the series, and I hope it will stay that way and not just be a one year wonder.

Have a fantastic time!!

Hey!! I won't have to follow you guys to find out what is going on. I found a tv. So now I can watch it with ya.

Dixon got in it but but I saw him stopped flat so no damage..I think.

Dixon clearly has Jimmie Johnsons horseshoe

Holy snikies!! Where's gnomesayin? What'd he do, throw a banana peel out on the track and start that pile up?

Damn Andretti hit Ed Jones in the helmet

Did ya ever wonder what would have happened if Marco would have stayed in car #27 this year and Rossi would have driven #98?

This is a great track but definitely seems to need some upgrades. It seems similar to Belle Isle in that you cannot park anywhere around there

Dixon with a speeding penalty, but now Power crashes.

Newgarden is something else. Jordan Kong has been phenomenal as well, Mark Blundell continues to bring in some very good drivers.

I'm here, but my internet signal is just good enough to keep the live audio feed going. If I do anything else, it gets messed up. We are on the back stretch sitting in the grass, can see turns 4-5-6-7 etc. Much more relaxing and better view than a packed front grandstand.

Well Dixon WAS in third place.

Boy that was a close call in the pits!!

You should have worn a bright yellow shirt. Then we could have seen you better. I get the brightest one I can find at Wal-Mart. Then I really stick out in a crowd.

:)

These guys should think about calling the race instead of giving lap by lap point standings updates.

Taking their cue from NASCAR.Indy Cars put on a good show and I say cmon Newgarden!

Now watching from down by turn 11. I can't believe Dixon is set to extend his points lead with the way the day started. Track position race, Rossi's team miscalculated badly.

How the hell do you save 4 laps of fuel here? Sato looks good. C'mon

Sato Schooled them. Heck yeah I can live with that finish order.

Boy!! Sato sure has changed the last few years. Remember when he used to crash and burn every time out?

Do they still have the ridiculous crutch double points at Sonoma?

I really feel sorry for Marco Andretti. I sure wish he could get some wins. The Andrettis are really a class act.
