Just got it this morning, haven't really got a chance to play around with it yet.

I did try out the version of maps on the drive in. I like the lane assist and showing the speed limit is very nice. Still doesnt have the social aspects of Waze though, and CarPlay still does not offer Waze. Until they offer the social aspects of Waze, Apple Maps will never be as good.

My wife warned me that might happen when i started downloading it last night. Apparently that's a known issue.

No, I haven't.

Nothing was deleted. Just a bunch of apps that no longer work because they're not compatible.

It's apparently on the developer on whether they update their own apps or if they let it die.
