IROC question

Don't ask me why this question came to me, but it did.

When they say that IROC cars are "identically prepared", how thorough is that statement? One would assume that all the engines, gear ratios, etc are the same, but what about tire pressure, weight distribution, and other specs that race teams routinely modify during the running of a race?

I'm thinking that all of that is the same too Ward-Fan. Actually I'm pretty damn sure it is. Too bad they really can't get two cars exactly alike cause then you'd really see who was better. It basically comes down to who draws a car that is really good and suit their driving style.

An even bigger question is what type of car will they run in the future with the demise of the Firebird.

Great Question!!!I cant answer bur it still is a great question.

I asked this exact same question about 5 monthes ago Wardfan. The answer I got was indentical means indentical all the way down to tire pressure and weight jacking.

I think they will run the GTO in a couple years since Pontaic sponcers the seris

My understanding is that while the cars are built as close to spec as possible, the fine tuning of each car is done car by car.

If one car happens to be tight off while another is loose off, adjustments will be made to each car to bring them to a middle ground.

If one car needs a half pound in the right front while another needs it in the left rear, then that's what each car gets.

Where the hell is that IROC for dummies book when you really need it? :p

It's over on the shelf right next to The Traveler's Guide to Under Hood Cooking.

Mini-Coopers.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put a Mustang out there. I know its blasphemous for me to say that, but thee isn't much more to choose from.

Speaking of which, have you seen the new ones? Talk about motorized skateboards. YIKES
mini usa

163 Supercharged Horses with a top speed of 136

Pure racing excitement in a street car. Already told the wife that she's getting one but she reminded me of what a racer-boy suspension would do to my liver.......sigh......

It would be cool for them to run Mustangs (to particular reason hehe) but I think they are kinda shaped like bricks. I think they might run Corvettes.
