Is Carl Edwards out of his mind?

Edwards apparently wasn't thrilled, saying on his radio, "He ain't our teammate," when told Biffle wouldn't come back to help. He went from the lead to an eighth-place finish because he eventually had to pit to resolve the issue.

Nothing changes the fact that he said that.
If you remember, he and Biffle pitted at the same time? Then they both got caught when a caution came out and Biffle got the lucky dog. then they both stayed out, Biffle started up front and Carl had to go to the end of the line. just racing. biffle said also if you read the article, that when jimmy hit the wall. Isn't it great when the 48 wrecks trying to catch us..Of course all the politically correct were up in arms about that comment, even though Jimmy rolled into the pits with minor damage.

Congrats -- you have now joined the ranks of Stewart and Hamlin in the crybaby status!

plenty of Toyota's out there, but he would have had to slow down too much for that.
Kurt Busch was limping around several laps down; he probably would have been happy to help a former teammate. Of course, that would have required Carl slowing down to Kurt's speed, instead of Greg slowing down to his.

What's said between teammates Sunday evening is worth about as much as what's said between driver and crew chief Sunday afternoon: not much.

I think Kevin Harvick nailed it a couple years ago when he said Edwards was "fake as hell". He likes to cheese for the cameras and do his Aw Shucks bit, but then he'll go do stuff like lunge at Matt Kenseth, turn Brad K head first into the wall taking out half the field, and crap on a teammate's win.

Harvick is awesome because he tells it like it is like Stewart, minus all the whining.

Remember that they were teammates a looooong time ago, and only for 2 years.

Hmm, maybe we can stop raking Carl over the coals. From Jayski/ESPN.com:

Edwards, Biffle work to clear up confusion over Michigan issues: #99-Carl Edwards understood when #16-Greg Biffle wouldn't give up a big lead to help clean paper off his grille with about 40 laps remaining in Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway. Edwards' issue with his Roush Fenway Racing teammate came around lap 70 when he wanted Biffle to drop about six car lengths to help with the same issue that was causing an overheating problem with them racing for sixth or seventh. "I want us to be the best teammates we can be," Edwards told ESPN.com on Tuesday. "I never want somebody to give up a shot at winning a race. ... My hope is he never heard the communication on lap 70."

Biffle told ESPN.com he didn't recall getting a message from his spotter or crew chief on lap 70 and totally understood Edwards' frustration if there was a miscommunication that led to that. "I can see where he'd be upset under those circumstances,'' said Biffle, who went on to win the race. "All I can say is I'll help Carl absolutely anytime I can. We go out of our way to help each other. It's a team sport. None us do it all on our own."

Edwards admitted he was frustrated the first time his spotter asked the #16 team for help. He said over his team radio that "he ain't my teammate'' when told Biffle wouldn't come back. After the race, when a reporter asked if Biffle should have helped and he responded with "it's his job to help," Edwards thought it was in reference to the first request. Edwards had no major issue with the second request as Biffle led by 20 to 25 car lengths. "That one I understood,'' Edwards said. "It was toward the end of the race and it was for the lead. And frankly, our car was pretty fast. That was probably wishful thinking [he would drop back]."

The two discussed the situation briefly during Monday's team debriefing call, and even then Biffle was unclear they were talking about two different situations. They plan to meet on Friday at Sonoma to clear up any miscommunication there might have been so that it makes all RFR teams stronger moving forward.

Speed keeps showing video of the race with 30 to go and audio of Carls radio where he's asking him to drop back and then saying he isn't his teammate. Either speed is out to get him, or Carl was frustrated and now regrets what he said and came up with a good cover story. Problem with Carl is he's such a good liar. I find it hard to believe Jack and Puccia were confused too.

Even after Biffle and Carl spoke on Monday, Greg was still under the impression Carl was mad about his refusal to drop back with 30 to go.

I just realized that there was never a Biffle congratulations thread and look at the mileage this BS has got, all because its Edwards? You know you've got a hold on people when....

Carl is a crybaby. Plain and simple. Wanting to know who tapped him as he might need that information later. Come on. If its not going his way he turns into a Kesolowski.

Biffle didn't get the lucky dog... he never even went a lap down and stayed out that's why he retook the lead. If he took the lucky dog he would have been at the end of the lead lap cars, not in the lead. Carl would have been better off to give the spot to Joey and use him to get the debris off instead of asking his team mate who's leading him by almost 2 seconds to wait for him, allowing the 48 with a faster car to catch up more...

Yeah I think Biffle got to stay on the lead lap and Carl got the lucky dog I think? Carl had choices, he decided to ride it out. It didn't blow up so it worked out I guess.

Now Carl claims there were 2 different instances during that one race where he had debris on the grill and Biffle was the only other car out there that could help him? I find that hard to believe. Why didn't he say that in the first place? Or did it take him a few days to come up with that excuse?
I guess it could be true, but given Carl's antics in past years I question it.

That's the crazy thing. I think it was Puccia that asked the #22 if he would help out, and Logano said sure thing. Apparently, Carl didn't want to drop back that far, and it cost him. The idiot would have had time to get back past Logano for sure, but Carl would have finished 2nd and had little to be mad about. It's Atlanta all over again. Some little contact and Carl makes sure it ends in a total wreck. Hell, he had to hit Logano twice that day to be sure he had 'justification' to wreck for blood.

LOL!

And you mean Brad, not Joey, right?

EDIT: Nevermind, just found a replay of the wreck.
