is HMS in contender round 2 chase trouble now ?

If Newman and Edwards both net top-10ish finishes at Charlotte and simply avoid calamity at Talladega they should be good to go for the next round. It's the bottom 3 that really need to be on their game

They tell the teams what air pressure and camber to run, most of them pay no attention to what the say, then bitch when things go wrong.

This. Right here.

A solid top 10 will do the trick.

Who actually thinks Newman will be advancing? Carl Edwards won't either.

After the shake up at Kansas anything could happen, not going to take much to send f the "big boys" packing. One wreck at Talladega is all it takes to throw this whole deal into turmoil. Edwards might win the cup, wouldnt that be interesting ?

Heck yeah, Newman's making it. I'm glad too. He's a good driver and I'd like to see him in the final four.
Gordon, Newman, Edwards and Kyle.
Yeah, that would be awesome!

Remove Gordon and put in someone else, then we can talk.

;)

Gordon isn't in that great a spot right now, ... if Jaime wouldn't have touched him he would be though.o_O

We may be seeing fewer "aggressive setups" for the remainder of the season, the tortise beats the hare

Not so sure. I though I would see that post Fontana--you know, Kyle18fan....I was there and everything, but I digress. There might be some surprises, but the big boys will be back in play after Charlotte I think. It's been a fun week though. What would we do without Delana's wife screaming fast on Friday and Saturday, and bitching on Sunday? Betcha Mr. H. has a boat paddle in his hands over at Goodyear while he participates in mixing up a better tire for Charlotte---or, he could save himself the trouble and just put air in them and stop the horizontal to the ground right front cambers.

The final 4 might be the slowest cars in the field, do they dare stick out their necks for a tenth of a second ? I kinda remember you telling me you were at Fontana

Even funnier how Goodyear is NEVER at fault.

IIRC Tony caught flak from nascar and possibly a fine a few years ago for calling out Goodyear for producing a crappy tire following a race, not Indy.

Thought nascar started checking for mandatory minimum tire pressures a year or so ago?

Wonder if Jolo will sandbag 'dega now that hes through
Probably run wing for bad brad in both races and may even screw up some other drivers chances. It wouldn't be the first time a driver's done that.

Johnson and Jr are, Kasey may be out but only 8 spots, heading to his best track.

I've thought about paying off a couple of S&Ps to take jolo out of the rest of this years races so we can have some peace and quiet on here while a certain person hides and sulks.

Did I mention that I was at Fontana the year previous to see Kyle win as well? Both times near header off of the grandstands. I went nuts. So awesome. I think you have a point about the final 4. I do believe that it is JGR's intent to run within their limits in hopes that what happened in Kansas continues to happen. So far. So good.

wait a minute..I thought you had the inside skinny on the chase spec motor? Now they have a run within their limits strategy? Hell, I thought they were running the Kenseth school of points racing and wheel holding. HMS better be running the pull your head out strategy

That is the Chase spec motor Sparky. BTW--I cited Brian Pattie as the "insider" who spoke of the Chase spec motor. Unlike many--if not most--I cited my source instead of blowing smoke out of my ass (although I do that too on occasion).

you and Brian Pattie are the two persons in the world that are still waiting for the chase spec motor. Maybe next year. Kyle is getting a new crew chief, that isn't hearsay.

I think its their only choice, they got to finish races and we know what happens when they start pushing the limits. sneaking around in the top 5 is looking pretty good right now. I do faintly remember you mentioning something about wishing you could go to Fontana someday

The folks in the booth have already confirmed that JGR is using the "chase spec motor" ................ thats old news
I believe a crew chief change when I see it

LOL, have your laugh now and pray he gets eliminated this round because the next round was made specially for him.

Martinsville-Texas-Phoenix

15 wins combined between the 3.

Time to **** bricks.

Yeah well .. you know... its 2014... while were looking at stats.. go back to those 3 tracks and guess which driver earned the most points at them combined earlier this season... I'll give you a hint.. It's Joey.

If you put them head to head, Joey will always lose. Dont even start.

Also Joey is about 1 good finish away from having the series best overall chase average finish :p lol

JJ - 9.6

Joey - 9.71

Im going to choose to leave the number of races over which these averages were accumulated undisclosed :D

Didn't you just proved my point here? lol

Are those their finishes respectively in the chase? Those are not bad for someone who is not his usual self this year.

You did.. not disagreeing with u... obviously there are almost no drivers who can stack up to JJ's stats

.. and no.. thats overall... but Jimmie has like 90 more chase starts than Joey lol... Joeys average this chase is actually 2.5 right now... JJ's is 15th... which I mean.. technically.. proves u wrong.. a little bit... no? :p lol
