Is the Austin Dillon head first lunge the dumbest celebration ever?

I am not trying to discredit Carl Edwards driving skills. When he was gunning for cup win #1 at Atlanta, even as a Chevy fan I was thinking I hope he wins. I want to see the nut do the flip.

Again Carl has good skills and may win a cup one day. But there is no way to say how much $ that flip is worth.

I am thinking it ups his sponsorship worth, and probably sells caps and tee shirts. Yeah it is a little less fresh now, but still a standard.

And we are all waiting for the day he doesn't stick the dismount

And we are all waiting for the day he doesn't stick the dismount

A couple years ago, Tyler Walker, a young sprint car driver, was known for doing a flip (not completely like Carl's, but a complete head of heels flip), and didn't stick the landing. Kept him out of the car for months while his leg healed.

It is not bad enough that Austin's has to stupid all his his selves he also dishonors the hard work invested in this thread. Still Stupid. Kurt tonight is a good night to cuss somebody out.

1. the lunge is stupid
2. We do a thread to noblely inform him, it looks stupid.
3. He disregards
4. Kurt has no patience for fools, if he needs to cuss stupidity, this is the time.

Ah, I get it now.;)

Yes a slow news day, but still looks afflicted enough to thread.

Kurt Busch's snow angel, and Kyle's busted guitar are contenders too.
Your thoughts?

Does Papa need to take the jewelry off and learn him not to do?
I actually enjoyed the Pete Townshend-esque guitar demolition :D

Personally having never won a race, and just enough internet to post I still feel qualified to set some standards.

Never cry in victory lane it ain't a funeral.

I was in tears winning the race a week after my mom passed away. Not good enough of an excuse?

I was only wanting to snark the cup guys who do it over a first win.. They should be happy, not reliving some kind of pain. But they don't need and are doing well without my approval.

I wish I had been able to win a race. I can only speculate but I would probably be emotional about my mom too if she had recently passed.

As for the thread I am just killing time, anybody in victory lane has already accomplished a dream that I never realized myself.

Thinking some more..... Winning a race, and loving your mom thats commands a lot of respect. I know you will always cherish the memory of your mother, good luck with the racing I hope you get to win more races.

Oh, he can. Doesn't make him look like less of a dork though
Since the subject of celebrations is coming up again I can't help but rate Kyle Busch's smashing of the Sam Bass/Gibson guitar as #1 on my list of worst celebrations. That was one of the more disrespectful things that I've ever seen from a NASCAR driver. Kurt Busch's snow angle and in-reverse victory laps are #2 & #3 in my book of the worst celebrations. Dillion is definitely a top-5 though.

I loved the guitar smashing.

DW's attempt at dancing comes to mind. At least that's what I think it was

Looks like we're even then although I'm sure that many more agree with you then me on this subject. Had he used some kind of prop, I'd agree with you. Watching him smash a work of art in front of the artist who created it, disrespectful IMO so I can certainly agree to disagree with you on this one.

I hate that thr guitar was destroyed but I liked the exuberance he displayed.

Bingo! If I were Bass, Kyle would have recieved an old accoustic plastered with hello kitty stickers for his next win.

I think those designs on the grass are made of chalk , and chalk is used to make things UNslippery . I guess Austin knows that now .
There have been some great winner celebrations mentioned in this thread , brought back some memories . In my opinion , the best was the Dale Earnhardt victory in Daytona when every member of every crew , and for that matter pretty much every person in the pit and garage area came out on to pit road to congratulate him . Totally unscripted and heartfelt congratulations .

looks like he won't be celebrating long...
Austin Dillon: Fails Post-Race Inspection - 6/30/2012 12:35:10 PM

Update:
NASCAR officials announced that Dillon's No. 3 Richard Childress Racing car which won the NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed The Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway failed post-race inspection because the car's heights were too low in the rear, Kentucky Speedway PR reports.

Recommendation:
Unfortunate news after the emotional win for the young driver. Dillon's Chevrolet failed post-race inspection for being too low in the rear end of the car. We expect swift and heavy penalties for Dillon, his crew chief and the team to be announced early in the coming week.
